Healthcare Price Transparency Analyst

Support Louisiana Blue’s healthcare price-transparency and reimbursement-compliance work through SQL reporting, cost algorithms, and analytics. The role serves federal and Blue Cross requirements and helps improve medical pricing operations.

Description

  • Deliver pricing and transparency reports that support compliance with Blue Cross Association and federal requirements.
  • Provide members with cost details for common procedures, surgeries, treatments, and quality-of-care information.
  • Improve facility and professional reimbursement operations through new processes, procedures, reports, software, and operational enhancements.
  • Partner with business divisions, IT teams, and vendors to strengthen reimbursement operations and resolve information-related business challenges.
  • Develop a technical reporting infrastructure that is efficient, effective, and compliant.
  • Help refine, implement, automate, and manage reimbursement operations strategy with senior colleagues and the Manager, Healthcare Price and Transparency.
  • Design, configure, implement, maintain, and document cost-transparency algorithms for internal and external initiatives.
  • Evaluate reimbursement operations, define business requirements, identify improvement areas, and support business and technology systems design.
  • Recommend improvements to business processes, system testing, controls, and operating protocols.
  • Complete data transformation, validation, reporting, and analytical activities.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in a related discipline is required; four years of relevant experience may substitute for the degree.
  • At least two years of analytical experience in healthcare, information technology, finance, or a related field is required.
  • Preferred candidates have a basic understanding of provider payment methodologies, complex provider contracts, medical coding, clinical editing, and analytics-driven healthcare price-transparency initiatives, or equivalent experience.
  • Basic familiarity with clinical and payment methodologies such as per diems, APC, DRG, MPFS, and CCI is preferred.
  • Extensive SQL expertise, including query writing, data imports, and table and view creation, in environments such as Microsoft SQL Server, Azure Databricks, or Snowflake.
  • Experience using analytics and visualization platforms such as Tableau and Power BI is required.
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly present complex financial analyses and technical subjects to internal employees and external vendors.
  • Extensive proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PivotTables, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, demanding work environment.
  • A medical coding credential such as CPC or CPHC is preferred.
  • Must be authorized to work for Louisiana Blue in the United States without employer-sponsored immigration support.
  • A successful background check and pre-employment drug screening are required before hire.
