Associate Account Manager - Luma Software, UK Hybrid

Manage renewals, retention, and expansion for Luma scientific software accounts across Benelux and Nordic markets. Build customer relationships, support account growth, and partner with sales and customer success teams.

Description

  • Manage the health, retention, and growth of an assigned portfolio of Luma customer accounts
  • Lead renewals for named accounts while identifying and closing expansion opportunities with departmental buyers and smaller research teams
  • Work closely with Strategic Account Executives, Customer Success, and the wider sales organization
  • Travel 30% or more for customer meetings, QBRs, and account management activities
  • Find and develop expansion opportunities within existing customer accounts
  • Manage the complete sales cycle for small and mid-sized expansion opportunities, typically below $50K ARR
  • Assess customer needs, develop business cases, and present proposals for renewal and expansion opportunities
  • Meet or surpass quarterly and annual retention and expansion targets
  • Work with WW Renewals on renewal tracking, account health, stakeholder feedback, and at-risk accounts
  • Develop relationships with scientific researchers, lab managers, and departmental decision-makers
  • Understand customer workflows, challenges, and scientific goals related to ELN, LIMS, cheminformatics, bioinformatics, and data visualization
  • Present Dotmatics solutions to address research and data management needs
  • Partner with Customer Success on onboarding and customer value realization
  • Manage renewals from the 120-day notice period through contract completion
  • Forecast renewal risk and revenue, monitor account health, and take action on renewal concerns
  • Negotiate renewal pricing, terms, and contract structures within defined parameters
  • Work with Customer Success to address adoption and customer satisfaction issues
  • Assist Strategic Account Executives with named enterprise accounts
  • Work with Presales on product demonstrations and technical discovery conversations
  • Coordinate account plans, customer communications, and opportunity progression
  • Keep CRM records accurate and report on renewal status, pipeline activity, and account health
  • Build knowledge of the Dotmatics Luma portfolio while tracking scientific research trends, laboratory informatics needs, and competitors
  • Share market intelligence with Sales and Product teams
  • Take part in pipeline and renewal forecast reviews with sales leadership

Requirements

  • At least four years of experience in inside sales, renewal management, account management, or sales development
  • Experience in SaaS, life sciences, or technical software is preferred
  • A degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline may be held
  • Demonstrated success meeting or exceeding retention, renewal, or sales quotas
  • Understanding of complex sales processes
  • Ability to work with Finance and RevOps to develop sales contracts
  • Strong skills in discovery, negotiation, and consultative selling
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and communication skills
  • Experience with CRM platforms, preferably Salesforce, and sales engagement tools
  • Strong organization and time management, with the ability to manage a high-volume renewal portfolio alongside expansion opportunities
  • Ability to collaborate effectively while independently managing renewal and sales responsibilities
  • English proficiency required; Dutch, Danish, or Swedish is helpful but not required
  • Experience selling to or managing accounts in research organizations, pharmaceutical companies, biotech firms, or academic institutions may be beneficial
  • Understanding of SaaS models, subscription renewals, and expansion-led growth may be beneficial
  • Familiarity with scientific research processes and laboratory informatics may be beneficial
