French Translator (Remote, Canada)

Fidelity Canada is seeking a French Translator to translate, edit, and proofread investment and financial content. The role oversees terminology, language quality, and delivery timelines for marketing materials.

Description

  • Deliver French translation, editing, proofreading, and project coordination.
  • Protect and reinforce the consistency of the Fidelity brand.
  • Proofread internal and external translations against Fidelity quality standards.
  • Provide translation services that comply with industry regulations and Fidelity requirements.
  • Coordinate translation with Marketing Operations to deliver accurate materials on schedule.
  • Review and approve French content for accuracy with guidance from the Team Manager or Manager.
  • Agree on delivery schedules with internal stakeholders and escalate issues that remain unresolved.
  • Assess internal and vendor-produced materials for French-language quality.
  • Address questions about terminology, writing style, and content.
  • Research financial and industry terminology through government and specialist sources.
  • Maintain and enhance Fidelity’s internal terminology resources and glossary.
  • Track emerging French terminology and language trends to support high-quality Fidelity documentation.

Requirements

  • Have current authorization to work in Canada.
  • Bring at least three years of translation experience, preferably in finance or a related field.
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in Translation from a recognized institution or have equivalent experience.
  • Communicate effectively in both English and French.
  • Understand financial markets and related terminology.
  • Translate accurately between both languages while maintaining appropriate style.
  • Organize work effectively and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Demonstrate self-direction, initiative, and the ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Use machine translation tools, including GlobalLink, proficiently.
  • Membership in ATIO or OTTIAQ is an advantage.
  • Willingness to appear in promotional videos for digital content is an advantage.
