Director, Culture, Ethics and Compliance - Remote US

Lead employee relations, ethics, compliance, investigations, and labor relations for GPC’s North American workforce. Advise leaders on policies, disputes, performance improvement, and employee engagement.

Description

  • Lead investigations and advise on routine and complex employee relations matters, including harassment, conflicts, complaints, grievances, and workplace accommodations
  • Assess when further investigation or escalation is necessary and manage the response
  • Monitor company policies and support policy implementation, including evaluating downstream effects
  • Deliver training on relevant policies and programs as needed
  • Apply applicable U.S. laws and regulations to negotiate and resolve labor agreements, conflicts, and disputes
  • Engage internal legal counsel when potential legal risks arise
  • Organize documentation for contract negotiations with employees and labor organizations
  • Keep records of corrective actions, grievances, terminations, and transfers
  • Monitor employee compliance, behavioral policy violations, and employee relations metrics; identify trends and propose solutions
  • Maintain advanced knowledge of documentation procedures and performance improvement recordkeeping practices
  • Support performance evaluation activities
  • Collaborate with leaders to update and implement corrective action plans
  • Build organizational alignment through strong communication, cultural competence, interpersonal skills, and balanced conflict resolution
  • Conduct and evaluate exit interviews, then recommend improvements to leadership
  • Handle additional responsibilities as assigned
  • Report to the Senior Director of Culture, Ethics and Compliance

Requirements

  • At least 12 years of experience in legal compliance, internal investigations, employee relations, labor relations, or a related discipline
  • Working proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated ability to safeguard confidential and sensitive information
  • Comprehensive knowledge of laws, regulations, and guidelines governing HR, employee relations, and negotiations
  • Outstanding interpersonal, analytical, conflict resolution, written communication, and verbal communication skills
  • Strong time management, cultural competence, operational agility, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Willingness to travel as needed, up to 30%
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in business administration, human resources, industrial-organizational psychology, or a related field
  • Preferred: Employee or labor relations experience in a distribution center or retail setting
  • Preferred: Experience using an ethics hotline platform such as NAVEX EthicsPoint or CaseIQ
  • Preferred: Formal investigation and interviewing training or experience, such as a law enforcement background
