Human Resources Business Partner - Madison, NJ (Onsite)

Advise business leaders and employees across employee relations, talent acquisition, performance, compensation, benefits, compliance, and organizational development. Support workforce planning, engagement, manager coaching, and HR initiatives for Atalanta Corporation’s food-importing businesses.

Description

  • Act as a trusted HR advisor for designated business leaders and employee groups
  • Deliver HR guidance spanning employee relations, talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, engagement, compensation, benefits, compliance, training, workforce planning, and organizational change
  • Work with leaders and managers to understand operational needs and deliver responsive HR support
  • Handle employee relations issues, coach managers, assist with investigations, resolve concerns, and recommend equitable outcomes
  • Help ensure adherence to employment laws and organizational policies
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen employee engagement and assist with action plans
  • Coordinate performance management activities, including goal setting, feedback, reviews, coaching, corrective action, and documentation
  • Assist with workforce planning, recruiting approaches, interviews, selection, and onboarding
  • Help deliver new-hire onboarding and orientation
  • Contribute to talent development, succession planning, career progression, retention, and organizational capability
  • Advise on compensation practices, job titles, grade alignment, bonus structures, and internal equity
  • Assist with benefits administration and employee status changes
  • Keep employee records and HRIS information accurate and current
  • Support compliance training, manager education, leadership development, and employee learning
  • Track workforce trends and employee feedback
  • Contribute to HR projects that enhance policies, practices, systems, and processes
  • Protect confidential employee and business information
  • Complete additional duties and projects as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related discipline is required
  • A credential such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR is preferred
  • At least five years of progressively responsible HR experience
  • Experience in a fast-paced, multi-site, distribution, food, manufacturing, or corporate setting is preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of employee relations, employment law, HR compliance, performance management, recruiting, onboarding, benefits, compensation, and HR practices
  • Demonstrated ability to establish credibility and trusted relationships with employees, managers, and leaders at every level
  • Strong coaching, problem-solving, conflict-resolution, and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines while maintaining detail and follow-through
  • High integrity, discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment
  • Microsoft Office proficiency is required
  • Experience with ADP or another HRIS is preferred
  • English/Spanish bilingual ability is a plus
  • Willingness to accommodate the company’s planned relocation to Madison, NJ in the first quarter of 2027
