Help Desk Support Engineer I at Fleet Response Onsite Ohio

Provide hands-on help desk and endpoint support for Fleet Response’s computer systems, telephony, identity services, and devices. Resolve technical issues, manage access and IT assets, and maintain clear support documentation.

Description

  • Handle end-user support requests through phone, email, ticketing portals, and other approved channels
  • Collect and document user details and technical issue information
  • Assess, prioritize, schedule, troubleshoot, resolve, and escalate support requests
  • Document troubleshooting steps, actions, decisions, and resolutions in the help desk ticketing system
  • Apply diagnostic tools and technical resources to resolve hardware, software, application, connectivity, and other technology issues
  • Provide hands-on desktop and endpoint support, including software installation and upgrades, hardware installation, application configuration, backups, and device reformatting
  • Deploy and administer company devices and technology services
  • Support secure account onboarding and separation processes
  • Manage user and application access permissions
  • Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections of workstations, printers, peripherals, and other equipment
  • Test solutions and complete post-resolution follow-up
  • Create and maintain help sheets, FAQs, procedures, and user-support materials
  • Maintain and audit the technology asset inventory
  • Work with IT teams, vendors, supervisors, managers, and business partners
  • Research technical issues, collect data, prepare reports, and support surveys or operational analysis
  • Deliver presentations, technical guidance, and user training
  • Provide customer-focused technical assistance and accurate, timely communication
  • Recognize recurring problems and recommend improvements to procedures, systems, and support practices
  • Protect the confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Assist IT colleagues and complete other assigned technology-support responsibilities

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year of experience configuring, maintaining, troubleshooting, or supporting computers
  • At least one year of experience supporting Microsoft Office 365 or Microsoft 365
  • At least one year of experience supporting Windows Server and Active Directory
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality, customer-focused technical support
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Strong listening, communication, follow-through, and follow-up skills
  • Ability to identify customer needs and explain technical information clearly
  • Ability to manage multiple requests and competing priorities
  • Strong initiative and ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Ability and willingness to contribute effectively within a collaborative technology team
  • Effective communication skills in person, by phone, through remote-support tools, and via electronic communication
  • Ability to occasionally lift, transport, or reposition technology equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Preferred experience with mobile device management platforms, Microsoft Entra ID, antivirus or endpoint-security platforms, 3CX/PBX or similar telephony systems, PowerShell, Python, automation scripting, AI tools, and complex network or system troubleshooting

  • Approximately 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday
