Description

  • Manage strategic accounts proactively and support churn-prevention efforts
  • Coordinate customer interactions and daily operational needs to increase local sales capacity
  • Act as the primary liaison among Sales, Operations, production, and distribution teams
  • Recognize dissatisfied, disengaged, and at-risk accounts and coordinate appropriate corrective measures
  • Contact customers proactively about account health, outstanding concerns, and high-margin product opportunities
  • Record customer concerns and oversee them through resolution
  • Improve Customer Effort Score (CES) by addressing recurring pain points and reducing friction
  • Review purchasing patterns and account activity to strengthen profitability and operational efficiency
  • Conduct account reviews to address pricing differences, delivery problems, and inaccurate account information
  • Monitor retention outcomes, saved accounts, recurring service issues, and CES trends
  • Share customer feedback patterns and systemic issues with Sales, Operations, and leadership
  • Coordinate with production, distribution, and sales teams to prepare for changing customer needs
  • Promote a safety-first culture and represent the Airgas brand through the 3C’s
  • Use Airgas.com and multiple customer touchpoints to simplify ordering and deepen account engagement
  • Help the outside sales team retain existing customers and secure new business
  • Support sales managers with planning to achieve departmental sales targets
  • Keep the sales team informed about market and sales opportunities while maintaining industry product expertise
  • Visit Airgas and customer locations across varied environments and conditions

Requirements

  • Hold and maintain an active Class D driver’s license
  • Have reliable transportation
  • Work in a drug-free workplace and complete required pre-employment and random drug testing
  • Bilingual English/Spanish fluency is preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred
  • Professional certification such as CCXP is preferred
  • Bring 3 to 5+ years of progressive experience in Customer Experience, Voice of Customer strategy, strategic account management, or customer service in industrial gases, welding supplies, or B2B industrial settings
  • Demonstrate advanced proficiency with ERP platforms such as SAP, CRM systems, and enterprise data analytics software
  • Have experience evaluating pricing structures, margins, and account profitability
  • Use Excel, Google Sheets, Google Docs, and Google Slides proficiently
  • Apply basic mathematical and financial concepts to calculate discounts, percentages, and margins
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication
  • Use sound analytical judgment to interpret metrics and present findings to management
  • Read and understand material safety data sheets
  • Read, speak, write, spell, and understand English
  • Travel approximately 20% within the region
  • Work effectively with people from varied backgrounds and personalities
