Remote Client Services Agent at ARUP Laboratories

Support customers remotely with communications, patient orders, laboratory testing inquiries, and issue resolution at ARUP Laboratories, a clinical and anatomic pathology reference laboratory.

Description

  • Build and sustain customer relationships through phone, email, and other communication channels
  • Create and update patient orders and demographic records in line with detailed ordering procedures and policies
  • Research and address inquiries about test information, specimen requirements, supplies, and fees
  • Deliver accurate, prompt, professional, and empathetic customer service
  • Apply sound judgment to complex requests involving patients, customers, and ARUP
  • Prioritize cases, document interactions thoroughly, and ensure appropriate follow-through
  • Explain available resources and application functions while providing guidance and resolutions
  • Research and resolve customer issues across multiple ARUP systems
  • Coordinate communication between ARUP customers and technical laboratory sections
  • Complete additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to type 35 words per minute and perform 10-key data entry
  • Basic computer proficiency, including internet use and effective navigation of computer and telephone systems
  • Remote employees must have, or be able to obtain before starting, internet speeds of 75 Mbps download and 50 Mbps upload
  • Preferred coursework in medical terminology, biology, communications, or related life sciences
  • Preferred experience in a medical laboratory setting
  • Preferred one year of customer service experience
  • Preferred familiarity with a laboratory information system (LIS)
  • Preferred intermediate computer and internet skills
  • Preferred HIPAA training or knowledge
  • Compliance with CDC and OSHA requirements and company PPE policies for a biohazard laboratory environment
  • Compliance with all ARUP policies and procedures
