Streaming Data Analyst — Mexico (Remote)

Investigate and resolve catalog, feed, and data-process issues for Simply.TV’s streaming services in Mexico. Apply Python, AI tools, and root-cause analysis to troubleshoot technical problems and support clients.

Description

  • Own streaming data issues from initial investigation through resolution.
  • Investigate inaccurate catalogs, feed problems, data anomalies, failed processes, and other streaming-data issues.
  • Determine root causes by analysing data, system behaviour, logs, feeds, and technical workflows.
  • Use Python to examine, validate, manipulate, and troubleshoot data and technical processes.
  • Resolve issues independently when possible, or escalate them to Development and other technical teams with a clear diagnosis and relevant evidence.
  • Work with structured data, APIs, logs, feeds, internal systems, and other technical sources.
  • Use AI tools and effective prompting to improve analysis, investigation, troubleshooting, and productivity.
  • Explain technical findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Work directly with clients on streaming-data issues, investigations, and resolutions.
  • Partner with Development, Operations, and Streaming teams to improve workflows and reduce recurring issues.
  • Manage multiple investigations and priorities while meeting deadlines and SLA requirements.
  • Record findings, solutions, and recurring problems to strengthen team knowledge and processes.
  • Build ongoing knowledge of Simply.TV’s streaming products, data architecture, and technical workflows.
  • Report to the Head of Streaming.
  • Work as a full-time contractor for 40 hours per week.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, data science, data analytics, software engineering, information technology, or a related technical discipline.
  • Practical Python experience for data analysis, investigation, automation, or troubleshooting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, including root-cause investigation.
  • Sound understanding of data structures, technical systems, and data movement across systems and processes.
  • Proficiency with AI tools and prompting techniques for research, analysis, troubleshooting, and productivity.
  • Ability to independently own technical problems from investigation through resolution.
  • Ability to interpret technical information and communicate conclusions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong written and spoken English skills.
  • Comfort communicating directly with clients.
  • Strong organization and the ability to manage concurrent investigations and changing priorities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • A proactive, curious approach to unfamiliar technical problems.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-moving environment with shifting priorities.
  • Experience in data analytics, data operations, technical support, technical operations, QA, or a comparable analytical role is advantageous.
  • Experience with APIs, JSON/XML, databases, SQL, logs, scripting, or data pipelines is advantageous.
  • Background in streaming technology, OTT platforms, broadcasting, media technology, metadata, or digital content is advantageous.
  • Previous experience handling client-facing technical issues is advantageous.
  • Experience using Python for automation or small internal tools is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with debugging workflows and tracing issues across multiple systems is advantageous.
  • Experience in an international or cross-functional environment is advantageous.
  • Television or streaming experience is helpful but not required.

Benefits

  • Monthly compensation of $2,000–$3,000 USD, depending on experience and technical skill level, under a full-time contractor arrangement.
