Language Localization Manager
Lead translation and localization for BYU-Pathway Worldwide educational programs, expanding access across native languages. Manage workflows, language technology, quality assurance, teams, budgets, and cross-functional partnerships.
विवरण
- Assist the Director of the Multi-Language Program with the long-term vision, goals, and roadmap for BYU-Pathway Worldwide translation and localization
- Align translation and localization plans with institutional priorities and Church standards
- Recommend measurable targets for quality, cost efficiency, and turnaround time
- Work with other CES institutions to maintain consistent terminology across languages
- Design, document, and maintain complete translation workflows from assignment through translation, review, quality assurance, and release
- Advance translation standards across Curriculum, Communications, Technology, Field Operations, Finance, Student Success, and other departments
- Support the integration of translation management into systems and internal tools
- Recruit, develop, and mentor translators, reviewers, and linguists
- Establish accountability frameworks, KPIs, and quality-control checkpoints
- Assess and implement Translation Management System and Computer-Assisted Translation tools
- Manage term bases, style guides, and translation-memory resources
- Coordinate technical integration with existing systems
- Implement Linguistic Quality Assurance procedures
- Perform audits and back-translations for sensitive or high-visibility content
- Collaborate with departments and CES units to determine translation priorities
- Coordinate with BYU-Pathway and Church Translation teams on terminology, policy, and cultural adaptation
- Administer annual translation budgets, contractor relationships, and licenses
- Produce quarterly cost forecasts and process-efficiency reports for the Director of the Multi-Language Program
- Deliver quarterly reports and plans for process improvement
- Drive continuous improvement through feedback, documentation, and workflow refinement
आवश्यकताएँ
- Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Linguistics, Communications, or a related field
- At least five years of professional experience in academic translation and localization management or related management positions
- Fluency in English and at least two of Portuguese, Spanish, or French
- Experience with TMS and CAT tools, including translation memories, term bases, and glossaries
- Experience translating and localizing higher-education academic content, auditing translations, and revising previously approved material
- Membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and current temple worthiness
- Familiarity with machine translation and post-editing workflows is highly regarded
- A demonstrated record of process design, documentation, and quality measurement is highly regarded
- Understanding of and ability to reflect The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints communication tone is highly regarded
