Help patients navigate healthcare billing through payment processing, insurance verification, claims support, and clear explanations of their account balances. Maintain accurate records and provide HIPAA-compliant, empathetic service in a remote role.

Assist patients with payments, billing guidance, insurance verification, and claims questions.
Take patient payments by phone in line with financial responsibility policies.
Set up and maintain patient payment plans.
Keep transactions, records, and data accurate.
Explain claim notes, account balances, and billing results to patients.
Check, review, and update insurance details.
Enter insurance information in the EMR and resubmit pending or corrected claims.
Explain coordination of benefits, deductibles, coinsurance, copays, filing deadlines, and claim denials.
Spot billing discrepancies and work with internal teams to address them.
Review account histories to identify the causes of billing or payment concerns.
Suggest policy-aligned solutions and follow-up steps.
Work with billing systems, EMR platforms, other tools, and reference materials.
Switch between multiple systems while assisting patients.
Follow assigned schedules and remain available during scheduled hours.
Complete required client training and take part in additional and cross-training.
Follow HIPAA and all confidentiality, privacy, and security rules.
Deliver professional, accountable, empathetic, patient-focused service.

Customer service or call center experience is required.
Healthcare billing, insurance, or claims experience is strongly preferred.
Payment processing or financial transaction experience is preferred.
High school diploma or GED is required.
Further education in billing or healthcare is a plus.
Technical proficiency with EMR systems and standard computer applications.
Ability to work independently in a remote or virtual setting.
Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
Background check required as permitted by applicable laws.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Analytical problem-solving skills and careful attention to detail.
Sound knowledge of healthcare billing and insurance concepts.
Ability to explain complex billing information clearly in patient-friendly language.
Comfort using multiple systems and tools at the same time.
Organized, self-directed, and collaborative approach to work.

Артықшылықтар

An additional $1 per hour for night and weekend shifts.
Paid training, usually two weeks, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CST.
Full-time schedule of 40 hours per week.
Eligible for benefits on the first day of the month after 60 days.
