Bilingual Haitian Creole Customer Service Representative — New York Remote
Provide remote customer support for New York healthcare applications and enrollment. Assist callers in English and Haitian Creole as part of Maximus’s health services program.
Tavsif
- Handle incoming calls from consumers, prospective enrollees, and individuals assisting enrollees.
- Manage inbound and outbound customer contacts effectively.
- Record and document inquiries in the applicable systems.
- Process healthcare coverage applications by phone, including tax household and income details, eligibility determinations, and health plan enrollment.
- Direct or refer consumers to the appropriate organizations.
- Handle life event changes, demographic updates, disenrollment requests, and special enrollment periods.
- Send requested materials by mail or email, or provide download access.
- Arrange language interpretation services for callers who do not speak English.
- Escalate calls and issues to designated staff when resolution is required.
- Participate in meetings and training while keeping program and system knowledge current.
- Handle inquiries in line with confidentiality and privacy requirements.
- Achieve quality assurance standards and other key performance measures.
- Follow established workplace safety procedures.
- Remain seated or otherwise stationary for extended periods and occasionally move items weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Complete other responsibilities assigned by management.
Talablar
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- At least six months of relevant professional experience is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Fluency in English and Haitian Creole is required.
- Must be able to speak, read, and translate fluently in Haitian Creole and English.
- Must live within 100 miles of New York, New York.
- Must currently and permanently reside in the continental United States.
- Strong data-entry and telephone skills are required.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are required.
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Previous experience with computers, phone systems, and headsets is preferred.
- Previous customer service experience is preferred.
- Home internet speed of at least 20 Mbps is required.
- Home internet must connect by Wi-Fi or Category 5 or 6 Ethernet cable to the router.
