Senior Account Executive, Unstructured Data – HPE (Remote, US)

Lead enterprise sales for HPE’s unstructured data portfolio across remote US territories, spanning AI, analytics, cyber resilience, and modern storage. Build pipeline, create demand, and close complex opportunities across Western US accounts.

Description

  • Own qualified pipeline development across assigned strategic accounts and territories
  • Create demand by shaping use cases, engaging customers, and converting whitespace into qualified opportunities
  • Find whitespace, competitive displacement targets, and use cases beyond standard storage refresh cycles
  • Develop opportunities across AI infrastructure, inference and RAG, analytics, data lakes and Lakehouse modernization, cyber resilience and rapid recovery, enterprise file and object storage, and high-performance S3 and hybrid-cloud architectures
  • Lead consultative discovery into customer business, application, data, and infrastructure challenges
  • Connect technical differentiation to faster recovery, stronger AI and analytics performance, reduced complexity and cost, and greater business agility
  • Create a persuasive HPE case for why change and why now
  • Engage CIOs, CTOs, CISOs, data and AI leaders, infrastructure executives, architects, and application owners
  • Work with HPE account teams, Solution Architects, partners, ISVs, marketing, and product teams to advance and close opportunities
  • Coordinate account teams, partners, ISVs, marketing, and product stakeholders around priority markets, use cases, and growth initiatives
  • Build and execute competitive strategies against established and emerging data infrastructure providers
  • Represent HPE in customer workshops, executive briefings, industry events, and partner engagements
  • Deliver against measures covering business results, pipeline, ecosystem growth, AI alignment, and market development
  • Establish the role and market foundation in the first half of FY27, then expand knowledge and best-practice sharing in the second half to prepare Storage sellers for deeper FY28 engagement

Requirements

  • At least seven years of successful enterprise technology sales, specialist sales, or business development experience
  • Track record of creating pipeline and closing complex enterprise opportunities
  • Experience selling storage, data infrastructure, AI infrastructure, analytics, data protection, or related technologies
  • Strong consultative and value-based selling capability
  • Ability to understand technical architectures and express their business value clearly
  • Experience selling new or disruptive technologies that require customer education and market creation
  • Excellent executive communication, storytelling, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Competitive approach with experience creating displacement strategies
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with account executives, technical teams, partners, and executive stakeholders
  • Willingness to travel for customer and partner engagements
  • Preferred familiarity with enterprise file and object storage, S3, NFS, SMB, AI infrastructure, inference and RAG, data lakes, Lakehouse and analytics, backup, recovery, cyber resilience, hybrid and multi-cloud data architectures, and high-performance data infrastructure
  • Highly desirable experience with or against Dell Technologies, NetApp, Pure Storage, VAST Data, WEKA, Cohesity, Commvault, IBM, Scality, Cloudian, or comparable providers
