Remote Cardiology Appointment Verification and Patient Scheduling Coordinator

Description

  • Audit upcoming cardiology schedules in Epic and confirm each appointment’s status
  • Place high-volume outbound confirmation calls while recording reschedules and cancellations
  • Record patient communications in Epic and promptly escalate urgent clinical or patient concerns to the care team
  • Monitor overdue, canceled, and no-show cardiology appointments for follow-up
  • Carry out organized, multi-touch outreach to reactivate patients and secure new appointment dates
  • Keep Epic follow-up queues current until appointments are confirmed or records are officially closed
  • Engage older patients with a considerate, steady, and supportive communication style
  • Handle incoming scheduling calls, rescheduling requests, and routine visit logistics
  • Capture accurate messages, direct clinical questions to cardiology staff, and follow up on unresolved inquiries
  • Communicate with patients in a clear, professional, empathetic, patient, and confident manner

Requirements

  • At least two years supporting a U.S. medical practice with appointment scheduling, patient recall or reactivation, and outbound confirmation calls
  • Practical experience working with EMR or EHR systems
  • Consistent compliance with HIPAA requirements
  • A dedicated, quiet home office suitable for patient calls
  • A noise-canceling headset
  • Reliable high-speed internet access
  • Comfort using web-based VoIP phone systems
  • Strong self-direction and follow-through when independently managing extensive recall lists
  • Recent, direct experience with Epic is preferred
  • Experience in cardiology or supporting older patient populations is preferred
  • Fluent bilingual English and Spanish communication is preferred
  • High-volume outbound calling experience combined with front-office or receptionist experience is preferred
