Senior Engineering Manager, KYC Compliance Platform at Twilio (India Remote)
Lead Twilio’s KYC compliance engineering organization in India, overseeing cloud-native services and a high-volume platform. Drive AI-enabled development, reliability, delivery execution, and alignment with product and engineering stakeholders.

- Lead Twilio’s Know Your Customer (KYC) engineering team within the Compliance Domain
- Set people strategy, delivery execution, and stakeholder relationships for a team handling millions of daily requests
- Own the roadmap for customer-facing compliance services, internal platform APIs, and operational tooling
- Convert long-range technical direction into actionable quarterly plans and measurable results
- Promote use of AI coding tools including GitHub Copilot, Anthropic Claude, and internal large language models
- Define expectations for AI-assisted development and assess its impact on team velocity
- Lead operational excellence across reliability, incident response, on-call effectiveness, and security posture
- Work with Product Management to create smooth, developer-friendly compliance workflows
- Partner with internal engineering groups to collect feedback and enhance APIs and operational tooling
- Hire, mentor, and retain engineering talent
- Foster psychological safety, direct feedback, career development, and an inclusive team environment
- Balance external product features, internal platform requirements, and operational tooling investments
- Report strategy, delivery progress, and risks to engineering leaders and cross-functional partners
- Prepare team plans, post-incident reviews, and technical decision records
- Manage stakeholder relationships, communicate roadmap decisions, negotiate priorities, and clarify trade-offs
- Lead with integrity while encouraging engineers to raise concerns and question established practices
आवश्यकताएँ
- At least 15 years of software engineering experience
- Five or more years of experience managing engineering teams
- Experience leading 10 or more engineers and directly managing individual contributors
- Strong practical experience designing and operating highly available, cloud-native distributed systems
- Ability to participate deeply in architecture reviews and assess technical proposals
- Extensive experience with AWS services and ecosystems, including Lambda, EKS, DynamoDB, and Kafka
- Experience applying microservices architecture and infrastructure-as-code practices with Kubernetes and Terraform
- Demonstrated success introducing AI tools within an engineering organization
- Record of delivering complex software products on schedule and to a high standard
- Experience with agile practices and data-based measurement of team health and productivity
- History of building diverse, inclusive, and high-performing engineering teams
- Experience with career frameworks, performance management, and developing engineers from mid-level through staff-plus
- Strong communication skills for explaining technical strategy, trade-offs, and team plans
- Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholders across groups with competing priorities
- Experience balancing external customer commitments against internal platform responsibilities
- Experience owning reliability for mission-critical systems, including incident management, on-call programs, and SLO-based improvements
- Experience leading internal platform or operational tooling teams is preferred
- Experience scaling teams during periods of organizational or technical change is preferred
