Technical Support Specialist — Remote in Kazakhstan

Investigate hotel and room availability issues for Emerging Travel Group. Support integrations, monitor metrics, validate data with SQL, manage escalations, and automate processes remotely.

Description

  • Investigate technical requests from internal users involving hotel and room availability.
  • Analyze availability alerts, test hypotheses, and monitor recovery of availability metrics.
  • Expand technical and functional expertise to reduce reliance on Development and QA teams.
  • Help build and optimize internal processes while contributing to product improvements.
  • Join regular meetings with the Product team.
  • Manage projects and create and maintain documentation.
  • Develop AI-powered automations and support other process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Experience in technical support, integrations, or IT operations.
  • Work independently and proactively by planning tasks, setting priorities, adapting to change, and initiating necessary actions.
  • Investigate technical issues independently by gathering data, testing hypotheses, identifying root causes, and isolating problems.
  • Experience using logs, monitoring tools, and metrics; Grafana experience is advantageous.
  • Understand HTTP and API fundamentals, including response codes, requests, responses, and JSON/XML interpretation.
  • Use basic SQL to query and validate data independently.
  • Escalate issues effectively by documenting symptoms, business impact, troubleshooting steps, and supporting evidence for Development.
  • Communicate clearly when facilitating calls with developers, internal users, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Conversational English at B2 level or equivalent practical proficiency for work-related calls and written communication.
  • Document solutions and contribute to ongoing process improvement.
  • Preferred: experience in travel or e-commerce, external integration support, automation, or AI tools.
