Regional Account Manager, SLED — Iowa (Remote)

Sell Fortinet cybersecurity solutions to California state agencies while developing SLED partner pipelines, managing quotas, and advancing field sales cycles.

Description

  • Develop go-to-market opportunities through prospecting and collaboration with SLED-focused partners
  • Build and sustain a revenue pipeline for California state agencies
  • Achieve or exceed assigned quotas and sales targets
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly revenue forecasts for assigned accounts and territory
  • Meet with customers and partners in person to identify and expand opportunities
  • Contribute to team enablement, forecasting, partner communications, sales initiatives, and recognition activities
  • Create and manage leads, renewals, deal registrations, and quotes in Salesforce
  • Resolve customer satisfaction concerns and requests
  • Advance sales cycles through close while building trusted customer relationships
  • Support prospects and customers during the presales process
  • Work with the local Channel Account Manager and reseller network to generate deals and strengthen partner performance
  • Follow up on inbound, website, and corporate event leads
  • Conduct both inbound and outbound prospecting activities
  • Achieve required sales activity metrics
  • Lead customer presentations and GoToMeeting demonstrations
  • Evaluate and report on supported opportunities
  • Coordinate communication among partners, customers, and Fortinet teams
  • Complete additional duties and projects that support business growth
  • Represent the role professionally and uphold Fortinet’s core values

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least one year of field sales experience in B2B technology
  • Experience selling to SLED accounts is preferred
  • Working knowledge of local businesses, procurement practices, and SLED-sector partners within the assigned territory
  • Ability to lead effective customer and partner meetings and deliver timely, relevant written follow-up
  • Demonstrated success meeting and exceeding sales quotas and targets
  • Understanding of sales cycles and internal and external business processes
  • Experience managing and forecasting an individual quota
  • Self-motivated with the ability to handle a varied, high-volume workload
  • Ability to build effective relationships in a fast-paced, high-performance environment
  • Strong computer proficiency
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Effective organizational, time-management, and activity-management skills
  • Ability to apply entrepreneurial strengths with a driven, forward-looking approach
  • Ability to close business while preserving strong customer and partner satisfaction
  • Willingness to spend more than half of working time outside the office or home office selling, including travel as needed
  • Cybersecurity or technology-solutions sales experience with SLED accounts is preferred
  • Familiarity with government procurement, cooperative purchasing agreements, and SLED budget cycles is preferred
  • Public or private cloud experience is a plus
  • Multi-tier distribution experience is a plus
  • Networking, security, or public/private cloud experience is a plus
