Process Associate, GBS Finance Operations – Accounts Receivable

Support billing and accounting for APL Logistics’ global operations, including cargo-release updates and invoice processing. Resolve billing disputes, manage service-level targets, respond to stakeholder queries, and provide team coverage.

Description

  • Prepare accurate, customized customer statement billings within service-level agreements.
  • Record accounting entries accurately and on time.
  • Update cheque, amount, release order, and cargo-release details in GFF against HBL within four hours, or within two hours for urgent cases.
  • Monitor and clear Freight Cashier and functional mailbox emails each day.
  • Resolve billing disputes promptly to prevent collection delays.
  • Prepare credit memos, void invoices, and upload invoices.
  • Void invoices at the request of origins, collectors, or other stakeholders.
  • Retrieve information from systems and share it with stakeholders.
  • Respond to and resolve emails on the same day.
  • Cover for teammates and the team leader during absences.
  • Meet service-level agreements and key performance indicators.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to the supervisor.
  • Train new staff and help the team leader update the DPM in IFS and applications, as well as handle ad hoc tasks.

Requirements

  • Diploma, postgraduate diploma, or professional degree in business administration, business management, finance, accountancy, or a related field.
  • 0–1 year of related experience in finance and accounts payable.
  • Strong analytical skills and accounting knowledge.
  • Knowledge of shipping or logistics.
  • Fluent spoken and written English.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel, Access, and database querying.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Careful attention to detail and an analytical mindset.
  • Flexibility to work night shifts.
