Senior Principal Solution Consultant — Aspen Technology, Beijing On-site

Lead executive discovery, digitalization roadmaps, and value propositions for Aspen Technology’s process-industry customers. Shape major sales engagements and transformational solution outcomes.

Description

  • Collaborate with Aspen Technology and partner sales teams across the full sales cycle
  • Lead consultative discovery with customer executives
  • Develop solution visions and digitalization roadmaps tailored to customer needs
  • Identify differentiated value opportunities and recommend implementation and sustainment programs
  • Maintain strong knowledge of Aspen Technology’s product strategy, value drivers, services, partner capabilities, and sales pipeline
  • Present comprehensive solution visions and persuasive business cases based on Aspen Technology products
  • Lead the design of integrated digitalization roadmaps and high-quality solutions across the portfolio
  • Deliver transformational results and measurable business outcomes for customers
  • Assess prospective clients’ most critical business needs using Process Industries expertise
  • Create solution visions, digitalization roadmaps, and value propositions aligned with customer priorities
  • Advise customers on relevant Aspen Technology solutions and services
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior executives and align on execution plans
  • Lead value-discovery sessions and develop solutions with subject-matter experts and cross-functional teams
  • Build and execute opportunity strategies with sales teams
  • Communicate Aspen Technology’s solution value and differentiation while navigating customer stakeholders and decision-makers
  • Collaborate with partners, implementation providers, consultants, and customer ecosystems to maximize solution value
  • Coach junior Solution Consultants in consultative selling and industry expertise

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related technical field is preferred
  • 12–15 years of experience in consulting, partner, pre-sales, or professional services consulting
  • Strong consultative and collaboration skills, including experience presenting to senior executives, providing advice, and securing stakeholder buy-in
  • Deep knowledge of Process Industries, including industry trends, challenges, opportunities, and peer benchmarking
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical capabilities
  • Experience partnering with sales teams, solution consultants, and services engineers on major engagements and large transactions
  • Strategic thinking across business, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build strong industry relationships
  • Combined business and technology expertise, including the ability to explain high-level technical solutions and differentiated value in business terms
  • Knowledge of at least one processing-industry function: Manufacturing Execution Systems, real-time or historian databases, Advanced Process Control, Process Engineering, Asset Performance Management, or Supply Chain Management and Optimization
  • Strong intellectual curiosity and the ability to learn and apply new concepts and technologies
  • Energetic, positive, self-directed, and comfortable working in fluid, fast-paced environments
  • Ability to identify improvement and growth opportunities, build alignment across organizations, and address resistance to change
  • Excellent spoken and written English and Chinese
  • Willingness to travel regionally up to 50% on average
