Remote Bookkeeper (Philippines) - Xero and Australian Accounts

Manage Xero accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations for an Australian electrical solutions provider. This remote, Philippines-based contractor works in alignment with Australian business hours.

Description

  • Process supplier invoices in Ezzybill and Hubdoc, entering them into Xero with accurate account and GST coding
  • Match invoices against Simpro purchase orders and receipts, and investigate discrepancies
  • Reconcile supplier statements each month and resolve missing or unmatched invoices
  • Prepare weekly payment batches for approval
  • Create and maintain supplier records, with Australian team verification for bank-detail changes
  • Raise invoices for completed Simpro jobs, including progress claims
  • Identify and invoice completed jobs that remain uninvoiced
  • Monitor Simpro-to-Xero synchronization and correct errors
  • Contact debtors weekly by email and phone, and allocate received customer payments
  • Complete daily reconciliations for all Xero bank accounts
  • Maintain Xero bank rules and identify unusual transactions
  • Follow documented procedures and contribute to keeping them current
  • Use supplied AI and automation tools while managing flagged exceptions
  • Prepare transactions for Australian finance controller approval without bank-login or payment-release access

Requirements

  • At least three years of bookkeeping or accounts experience serving Australian clients
  • Practical Xero experience across accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations
  • Working knowledge of Australian GST coding, including expenses, GST-free transactions, and capital purchases
  • Experience reconciling supplier statements and pursuing outstanding debtor accounts
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Comfort speaking with Australian customers by phone
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work consistently within documented procedures
  • Simpro or comparable field-service or job-management software experience, such as ServiceM8, AroFlo, or Ascora, is desirable
  • Experience with Ezzybill, Hubdoc, or Dext is desirable
  • Exposure to construction, trades, or electrical businesses, including progress claims and retentions, is desirable
  • Bookkeeping or accounting qualification is desirable
  • Disclosure of any existing ongoing roles or client work is required
  • The engagement must be listed on LinkedIn as “Independent Contractor”
