Private Client Investment Advisor II

Advise high-net-worth clients at TD on investment strategies and portfolio management. Build client relationships and grow assets under management.

Description

  • Partner with Relationship Managers to deliver investment services and products to high-net-worth clients.
  • Provide attentive service that supports client retention and growth.
  • Manage a portfolio of relationships centered on managed account solutions.
  • Identify TD Wealth clients’ investment needs and expand their share of business.
  • Help bring in new clients with investment needs.
  • Serve as the main contact for legacy client relationships when applicable.
  • Mentor junior colleagues and support team performance and collaboration.
  • Create client investment strategies using TD Wealth’s available tools.
  • Put investment objectives and strategies into practice for clients.
  • Support TD Wealth colleagues with investment product information.
  • Present investment ideas and solutions to improve client portfolios.
  • Track client portfolios and recommend or make adjustments.
  • Review each relationship’s fees and asset allocation annually.
  • Complete and regularly review Investment Policy Statements and Individual Wealth Plans.
  • Increase assets under management.
  • Refer investment-only clients to Relationship Managers for banking and lending opportunities.
  • Log client correspondence, communications, meetings, and sales activity in Salesforce.
  • Administer accounts and coordinate services in line with company policies and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Confirm new relationships meet account acceptance guidelines.
  • Keep client books compliant with FINRA, SEC, and TD Bank requirements.
  • Offer high-net-worth clients only approved products and services.
  • Represent TD Wealth professionally in public.
  • Take part in community and charitable initiatives.
  • Help maintain a positive, constructive workplace.
  • Guide junior colleagues.

Requirements

  • Four-year degree required.
  • At least 10 years of production-focused financial services experience required.
  • Valid Series 7, 63, and 65 or 66 licenses.
  • Active Life and Health insurance licenses.
  • Consultative investment sales experience.
  • Meet continuing education requirements.
  • In-depth knowledge of investment concepts, industry practices, domestic and international financial markets, and related legal and regulatory guidelines.
  • Advanced ability to understand clients’ investment goals and create diversified investment plans and strategies.
  • Extensive client management skills and experience.
  • Strong financial analysis and general analytical abilities.
  • Knowledge and experience with advanced taxation concepts and personal financial planning.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Supervisory ability.
  • Strong execution skills.
  • Experience working in a highly collaborative team environment.
  • Must meet FINRA employment eligibility standards.
  • Satisfactory criminal background, credit report, civil litigation, and regulatory or self-regulatory enforcement action checks.
  • Five or more years of asset allocation and portfolio construction experience preferred.
  • MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP) credential preferred.
  • CIMA, CAIA, or CFA designation preferred.
