Cloud Operations Engineer II at 11:11 Systems - Onsite United States
Manage VMware clusters, cloud capacity, monitoring, and escalated customer issues for 11:11 Systems’ enterprise cloud platform. Support infrastructure operations through provisioning, fleet management, and on-call engineering.
Description
- Oversee 11:11 Systems’ cloud compute environments
- Improve, deploy, and maintain the company’s cloud-based systems
- Conduct capacity planning, cluster provisioning, fleet management, alert monitoring, and escalation handling
- Take ownership of assigned cloud compute system responsibilities and remain accountable for their outcomes
- Serve as an escalation engineer for customer issues
- Join the after-hours engineering on-call rotation
- Provide escalation assistance to Level I Cloud Operations Engineers
- Manage cluster capacity across hosts, CPU, and memory resources
- Create, monitor, and report KPIs related to cloud system capacity
- Address escalated customer support tickets accurately, promptly, and professionally
- Apply established best practices for cloud compute systems management
- Deliver high-quality customer service and build professional relationships
- Manage company data and information in line with applicable agreements, procedures, and policies
- Follow company policies, data privacy practices, annual compliance training, and policy acknowledgement requirements
- Complete other assigned responsibilities
- Report to the Manager of Cloud Operations
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent professional experience is required
- At least four years of recent, hands-on experience administering enterprise VMware environments
- VMware VCP or VCAP certification is preferred
- Strong experience with VMware management tools such as vCenter, vCloud Director, VMware Configuration Manager, and NSX is preferred
- Experience with backup and disaster recovery platforms including Veeam and Zerto is preferred
- Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure services such as BaaS, IaaS, and DRaaS
- Experience supporting global data center environments
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship is required
- Ability to perform all essential job functions satisfactorily
- Ability to follow company data handling agreements, work procedures, policies, privacy practices, and values
