Remote Medical Receptionist, Primary Care
Provide remote reception support for a primary care practice, handling patient calls, appointments, EHR tasks, and refill inquiries. Support patients across three Long Island locations.

- Manage a high volume of incoming patient calls for three practice locations.
- Communicate with patients clearly, professionally, and patiently, including older adults.
- Handle routine appointment, refill, and general inquiry calls using office protocols.
- Direct calls, messages, and concerns to the appropriate team members.
- Schedule, reschedule, and coordinate patient appointments.
- Review patient needs and appointment history to identify the appropriate scheduling process.
- Refer scheduling matters that need provider or office-level guidance.
- Use AdvancedMD to review patient charts, appointment history, messages, refill information, and administrative details.
- Accurately record patient interactions, messages, and scheduling changes.
- Receive refill inquiries and direct them according to practice protocols.
- Refer medication questions and clinical concerns to the appropriate providers or team members.
- Do not provide medical advice, approve refills, or make clinical decisions independently.
- Follow established office workflows and communication procedures.
- Identify and escalate urgent, unclear, clinical, or sensitive concerns.
- Coordinate communication among patients, front desk staff, providers, and internal teams.
आवश्यकताएँ
- Experience in healthcare, a medical office, primary care, medical reception, front desk, or as a medical virtual assistant.
- Experience handling patient inquiries, scheduling, message routing, refill inquiries, or similar healthcare front office workflows.
- Experience managing frequent, high-volume incoming patient calls.
- Experience navigating patient charts, reviewing information, documenting interactions, and using an EHR or EMR.
- Experience scheduling, rescheduling, and coordinating appointments.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
- Clear, professional spoken and written English.
- Relevant work experience.
- Provide an NBI Clearance and/or local police clearance before onboarding.
- Be available for video meetings with the camera on when required.
- Reliable laptop or desktop computer.
- Stable high-speed internet connection of at least 25 Mbps.
- Noise-canceling headset.
- Working webcam.
- Quiet, professional work environment.
- AdvancedMD experience preferred, but not required.
- Experience supporting prescription refill inquiries preferred.
- Primary care experience preferred.
- Spanish-English bilingual communication preferred, but not required.
