Remote AI Engineer, Voice Agents and Healthcare AI
Own and improve production voice agents and privacy-safe AI pipelines for Nsight Health’s remote patient monitoring and chronic care platform. Help strengthen call quality, compliance, alerting, and automation for patient care.
Opis
- Operate and continuously improve AI phone agents handling inbound and outbound patient calls.
- Act as the technical point of contact between Nsight Health and its IVA provider.
- Turn clinical and operational needs into provider guidance, and explain provider capabilities to internal teams.
- Track provider performance against quality and HIPAA compliance standards.
- Set release acceptance criteria and develop layered test harnesses for provider updates.
- Configure and refine AI phone agents to meet clinical and operational objectives.
- Guide the provider’s NLU engine design, tuning, accuracy, and ongoing improvement.
- Build and maintain alerts by collecting provider data, classifying failure patterns, and triggering notifications.
- Design AI-driven quality intelligence pipelines that identify failures early and route them to responsible owners.
- Develop PHI-safe audio processing pipelines with local speech-to-text and in-memory PHI redaction.
- Ensure HIPAA-compliant data handling across AI pipelines and third-party integrations covered by BAAs.
- Create AI-native tools, including semantic search, vectorized data processing, and automated alerts.
- Report to the VP of Engineering and collaborate with the EVP of Patient Experience and the R&D team.
- Improve voice interactions for thousands of Medicare patients across more than 350 clinics.
Zahteve
- Bring at least four years of experience in machine learning or AI engineering.
- Have at least two years of direct experience with production LLM integrations in systems used by real people.
- Demonstrate deep NLP/NLU expertise, including intent recognition, entity extraction, and utterance design.
- Have production voice AI experience with speech-to-text, text-to-speech, or conversational AI using NLU.
- Have experience training and tuning production NLU, including training data pipelines, utterance sets, accuracy measurement, and iteration.
- Understand healthcare data, including claims, remote patient monitoring vital-sign streams, EHR data models, and AI applied to HIPAA-covered patient data.
- Have hands-on experience designing multi-agent systems.
- Use prompt engineering for classification and structured output at production volume.
- Know how to design PHI-safe AI pipelines using in-memory redaction, local inference, and data minimization.
- Be fluent with the Anthropic Claude, AWS Bedrock, and OpenAI APIs.
- Have experience with vector and embedding infrastructure such as pgvector or Pinecone.
- Have experience with agent and orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, or CrewAI.
- Be proficient with PostgreSQL and SQL.
- Have experience with alerting and issue-routing tools such as the Jira API, Slack webhooks, or PagerDuty.
- Be familiar with telephony platforms such as Five9 or Twilio.
- Use Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or an equivalent AI-assisted development tool regularly; this is a firm requirement.
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field is preferred; relevant experience is weighted heavily over formal education.
- Preferred: Experience with Whisper, Deepgram, AWS Transcribe, or text-to-speech providers.
- Preferred: Experience in clinical or regulated audio settings.
- Preferred: Experience with Tray.io workflow automation and integrations.
- Preferred: Experience with AWS Glue and Apache tools such as Airflow, Kafka, or Spark.
