Technical Support Engineer – Red Hat, Bangalore (Hybrid)

Support Red Hat’s online learning, virtual training, certification, and cloud lab environments. Troubleshoot Linux and Red Hat technologies for learners, instructors, and teams worldwide.

Description

  • Assist learners and instructors through service requests, live chat, and additional support channels
  • Diagnose and resolve issues involving course content, guided labs, cloud training environments, and learning platforms
  • Analyze technical problems with Linux, cloud, and other Red Hat technologies and identify suitable resolutions
  • Build and support virtual training environments during course delivery
  • Implement approved hotfixes and updates for course content and lab environments
  • Conduct quality assurance testing for course content, lab environments, and platform updates
  • Work with curriculum developers and Red Hat teams to build, deploy, and troubleshoot training lab environments
  • Deploy and verify new or revised course content in the Red Hat Online Learning system
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and knowledge-base articles
  • Track recurring problems and identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and greater operational efficiency
  • Partner with global Training and Certification teams on complex customer and operational issues
  • Expand and maintain technical expertise in Red Hat products, technologies, and solutions
  • Take part in team and organizational meetings and contribute to related discussions

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent enterprise IT industry experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • At least four years of customer-focused technical support experience
  • Practical knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux administration and command-line operations
  • Active Red Hat Certified Engineer certification in Enterprise Linux, Ansible, OpenShift, or Cloud Native Application, or Red Hat Certified Developer in AI certification
  • Experience with OpenShift, cloud, virtualization, or container technologies
  • Experience with shell scripting or another scripting language is advantageous
  • Ability to investigate issues independently, research solutions, and go beyond standard troubleshooting procedures
  • Ability to work effectively with global and cross-functional teams
  • Willingness to work across multiple time zones in a global 24x5 support environment
  • Ability to learn new technologies and adapt to changing tools, platforms, and processes
