Description

  • Own end-to-end product design for complex Spruce mobile banking features and customer journeys
  • Convert customer needs, business objectives, technical limitations, data, and regulatory requirements into clear opportunities and intuitive product experiences
  • Define problems, map journeys and flows, develop concepts, prototype, validate, and deliver production-ready designs
  • Plan, conduct, and synthesize customer research and usability studies
  • Help shape the future direction of Spruce’s native iOS and Android products
  • Build scalable patterns, frameworks, and interaction standards across the Spruce ecosystem
  • Use AI-enabled tools such as Figma Make, Figma MCP, and emerging technologies
  • Work with Product, Engineering, and Content across discovery, planning, implementation, testing, and release
  • Partner with Legal and Compliance to satisfy regulatory requirements
  • Evaluate shipped experiences for design quality, accessibility, platform consistency, and fidelity to approved designs
  • Support release readiness by surfacing experience risks, validating key journeys, and helping triage issues
  • Present design strategy, rationale, dependencies, and risks to cross-functional partners and leadership
  • Lead workshops and design critiques
  • Advance design quality through critique, coaching, standards, and ongoing improvement

Requirements

  • At least six years of product design experience, preferably with complex mobile products or services
  • A portfolio showing end-to-end product thinking, strong interaction and visual design, and meaningful customer or business outcomes
  • Experience creating native iOS and Android experiences
  • Advanced Figma skills, including components, libraries, prototyping, documentation, and developer-ready design
  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted tools and workflows for exploration, prototyping, documentation, research synthesis, and design-to-development collaboration
  • Experience simplifying complex workflows and designing high-trust or high-stakes customer experiences
  • Strong knowledge of accessibility and inclusive design practices
  • Experience planning or supporting customer research and usability testing
  • Ability to apply qualitative and quantitative evidence to guide, validate, and explain design decisions
  • Comfort working through ambiguity, balancing competing constraints, and independently advancing complex initiatives
  • Strong collaboration skills across Product, Engineering, Content, Analytics, Legal, Compliance, and business teams
  • Strong facilitation, storytelling, presentation, and design-rationale abilities
  • Careful attention to detail paired with an understanding of the broader customer journey and product strategy
  • Experience in financial services, fintech, identity, security, or another regulated industry is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in design, human-computer interaction, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
