Customer Service and Sales Representative

Assist American Family Insurance customers with billing, coverage questions, and policy updates. Resolve inquiries by phone, email, chat, forms, and social media.

Description

  • Support customers, advisors, agencies, and other business partners.
  • Answer questions about billing, coverage, and policy changes through phone, email, forms, chat, and social media.
  • Own customer requests and provide complete, attentive service.
  • Assess customer situations and make appropriate exception decisions for customers and the organization.
  • Share information and knowledge to support colleagues’ development.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend changes.
  • Attend training and development sessions to build customer service skills.
  • Take part in New Employee Orientation during the first week.

Requirements

  • Experience providing customer-focused solutions, support, or service.
  • Basic arithmetic skills, including averaging and calculating percentages.
  • Customer service experience in a face-to-face or contact center setting, or in retail, insurance, or hospitality.
  • Ability to take the lead and guide customers toward resolution.
  • If not already licensed, proof of passing the pre-licensing course for the employee’s resident state.
  • Obtain a Property and Casualty producer license for the resident state within 30 days of hire.
  • Obtain Property and Casualty producer licenses for all other operating or service states within 60 days of hire.
  • Additional producer licenses may be required sooner to meet business needs.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.
  • Successful completion of applicable background checks.
  • Sign a non-disclosure agreement covering proprietary information, trade secrets, and inventions.
  • Sponsorship is not considered unless the posting specifies otherwise.
