SICPA Field Service Technician – Quito, Ecuador (On-Site)

Provide Level 2 support, maintenance, installation, calibration, and troubleshooting for SICPA industrial systems. Support customer operations on-site in Quito, Ecuador.

Description

  • Deliver Level 2 technical support for hardware, software, and operational matters
  • Investigate and resolve technical incidents within established service-level targets
  • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance procedures
  • Install, configure, optimize, and maintain systems and applications
  • Monitor systems, troubleshoot faults, and complete scheduled calibrations
  • Assist repair center operations and maintain technical records
  • Coordinate field service work with technicians and support functions
  • Serve as the connection between Level 2 and Level 3 support teams
  • Take part in deployments, upgrades, testing, and system validation
  • Escalate critical problems and contribute to incident resolution
  • Establish and track maintenance performance metrics
  • Help advance service quality and operational excellence initiatives
  • Provide technical guidance to local teams and customers
  • Share expertise and help strengthen the organization’s technical capabilities
  • Deliver on-site assistance as needed and join on-call rotations

Requirements

  • Technical qualification in electronics, electrical, mechanical, industrial, information technology, telecommunications, or a related discipline
  • At least five years of experience in technical maintenance, troubleshooting, or field service across industrial, manufacturing, automation, IT, or operational settings
  • Background supporting equipment, systems, and field operations
  • Advanced troubleshooting and fault-diagnosis skills
  • Experience working with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to assess mechanical, electrical, software, and application-related problems
  • Experience with system monitoring, maintenance procedures, and technical records
  • Willingness to travel frequently and undertake occasional international assignments
  • Availability to work beyond standard business hours and provide on-call support when needed
  • Knowledge of computer networks and connectivity troubleshooting is preferred
  • Familiarity with FTP, SSH, PuTTY, SVN, and remote-access tools is preferred
  • PLC configuration and basic programming experience is preferred
  • Experience in beverage, tobacco, or fuel industries, or in analytical laboratory operations, is preferred
