HR Generalist, Supply Chain (Germany Remote)

HR Generalist supporting CHEP’s German and European manufacturing operations across employee relations, Works Councils, and labour law. Drive engagement, wellbeing, talent, and organizational change across multiple sites.

Description

  • Serve as the primary HR contact for employees and managers on policies, processes, and workplace questions
  • Support initiatives that align organizational structure, workforce capabilities, systems, and culture with business strategy
  • Develop and maintain programs covering retention, promotion, engagement, talent management, organization design, performance, compensation, and benefits
  • Coach line managers in HR self-service processes, including Workday case creation and use of the central employee hub
  • Maintain compliance with legal requirements in daily employee management
  • Support onboarding, training, compliance programs, performance and salary reviews, talent reviews, and engagement surveys
  • Partner with Supply Chain operations in Germany and selected European manufacturing locations
  • Lead employee relations, Works Council collaboration, engagement, wellbeing, organizational change, and workforce planning activities
  • Advise Plant Managers and leadership teams on people-related issues
  • Contribute to talent reviews, succession planning, leadership development, recruitment, and regional and global HR programs
  • Work with HR Centres of Expertise and HR Operations to deliver services and improve processes
  • Handle complex employee relations and Works Council matters in a unionized manufacturing setting
  • Track engagement, retention, absenteeism, wellbeing, and talent indicators
  • Contribute to cross-border HR projects across the European Supply Chain organization

Requirements

  • At least five years of HR experience, preferably in manufacturing, logistics, supply chain, industrial, or other operational settings
  • Substantial employee relations and Works Council experience in Germany
  • Working knowledge of German labour law and co-determination processes
  • Experience supporting engagement, wellbeing, and culture programs
  • Background partnering with operational leaders in a fast-moving environment
  • Experience working in an international matrix organization
  • Proven ability to work with employees and managers at every level while delivering strong internal customer service
  • Advanced expertise in employee relations and labour law
  • Ability to consult and negotiate with Works Councils
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing capabilities
  • Change management and conflict resolution skills
  • Effective coaching and relationship-building abilities
  • Data-led approach to engagement and retention initiatives
  • Ability to work independently across multiple European locations
  • Fluency in German and English, plus another European language
