Field Service Engineer, UK Remote

Provide field-based support for GLORY electro-mechanical systems at customer sites across the United Kingdom. The role covers fault diagnosis, networking, maintenance, installations, repairs, and service delivery against agreed SLAs.

Description

  • Manage scheduled maintenance, installations, upgrades, and urgent responses to critical customer issues
  • Investigate faults through symptoms, system logs, data analysis, root-cause assessment, and corrective action
  • Use a Windows laptop to run service tools, inspect logs, apply updates or configurations, and record completed work
  • Handle network connectivity activities, including LAN connections, IP configuration, basic troubleshooting, and access to device interfaces
  • Repair and maintain electro-mechanical equipment such as modules, sensors, motors, transport mechanisms, and power components
  • Perform preventative servicing to minimise downtime and strengthen equipment reliability
  • Keep customers informed and establish clear expectations throughout service visits
  • Maintain precise records of completed work, used parts, findings, and recommended next steps
  • Refer unresolved issues to technical support with relevant evidence, logs, and fault details
  • Meet agreed service levels while coordinating priorities with scheduling and technical teams for urgent cases
  • Report service activity to the Field Service Manager

Requirements

  • Demonstrated field service experience in a customer-facing environment
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills across electro-mechanical equipment
  • Comfortable using a Windows laptop for diagnostics, reporting, and communication
  • Practical networking knowledge covering LAN/Ethernet, IP addressing, connectivity checks, and device-interface access
  • Excellent written and verbal customer communication skills
  • Able to organise daily work around priorities and workload in coordination with the Regional Service Controller
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Desirable: Experience working to SLAs and handling high-priority callouts
  • Desirable: Knowledge of field health and safety practices
  • Desirable: Experience performing hardware or software upgrades, device configuration, or remote support
  • Desirable: Ability to coach or mentor colleagues
  • Networking capability expected: set a static IP, access a router or switch, troubleshoot connection failures, and apply fundamental networking concepts
