Accounts Receivable Manager - Cigna Healthcare - Remote

Manage provider accounts receivable, claims administration, payment performance, and corrective actions for Cigna Healthcare across the Mid-Atlantic and East Coast.

Description

  • Oversee accounts receivable activity for an assigned provider book of business supporting an account management team
  • Work with the Provider Relations Executive on strategic initiatives that strengthen the provider experience
  • Maintain timely, accurate claims administration
  • Analyze performance results and use available tools and resources to help providers manage accounts receivable
  • Guide stakeholders on policies, procedures, workflows, claim service quality, and training requirements
  • Meet with assigned providers to review results, discuss issue trends, and create improvement action plans
  • Coordinate with matrix partners to improve service and reduce contract interpretation issues
  • Share internal education on issues and trends to reduce errors and improve claim accuracy
  • Monitor contractual performance guarantees and late-payment interest to limit financial impact
  • Work with account management and matrix partners to identify, resolve, and improve accounts receivable issues
  • Support provider strategic plans, market intelligence efforts, and service experience reviews
  • Lead root-cause analysis and trend evaluation related to accounts receivable resolution
  • Administer accounts receivable corrective action plans
  • Recommend service-level improvements based on root-cause findings
  • Meet or exceed established service-level agreements
  • Review pre- and post-contract setup for the assigned book of business
  • Accurately track and analyze accounts receivable issues in the appropriate tools
  • Participate in face-to-face meetings as needed as an accounts receivable subject matter expert
  • Interpret and understand data results

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher is strongly preferred, or equivalent professional experience
  • At least three years of experience in benefits and claims administration
  • At least three years of relationship management and project management experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Cigna claims and supporting systems, including Proclaim, PMHS, and Facets, is highly preferred
  • Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint
  • Access knowledge is helpful
  • Experience with provider contracting or system loading
  • Proven ability to work effectively with internal and external customers at all organizational levels
  • Experience conducting root-cause analysis for claims issues
  • Ability to manage problems through satisfactory resolution
  • Project management capabilities covering time management, task analysis, work breakdown, and resource utilization
  • Strong facilitation and negotiation abilities
  • Ability to present detailed technical information to less knowledgeable audiences and negotiate mutually beneficial outcomes
  • Understanding of how each stage of the claims payment process affects final results and provider satisfaction
  • Ability to manage confrontational situations professionally
  • Ability to take ownership of tasks and projects while working with minimal supervision
  • Willingness to travel occasionally
  • For home-based work, a cable broadband or fiber-optic internet connection with at least 10 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload speeds
