Technical Consultant, Healthcare Integrations

Advise health plans and pharmacy benefit managers on MHK care-management technology solutions. Investigate integration, data, configuration, and system issues while supporting implementations, testing, and validation.

Description

  • Investigate technical issues using SQL, system data, logs, configuration details, and approved tools.
  • Assess complex escalations for scope, impact, reproducibility, and priority, then collect evidence and recommend next steps.
  • Support client file layouts, inbound and outbound feeds, batch processing, SFTP operations, PBM exchanges, vendor feeds, and related integrations.
  • Analyze files, payloads, rejections, mappings, code values, crosswalks, and processing results.
  • Work with clients, PBMs, vendors, and internal teams to resolve issues, define corrective actions, and document solutions.
  • Develop trusted client relationships while advising on solution options, growth, adoption, and retention.
  • Collaborate with Functional Consultants on client needs, configuration, implementations, enhancements, and operational delivery.
  • Validate configuration, environment readiness, workflow feasibility, and technical outcomes against requirements.
  • Explain configuration impacts, product behavior, best practices, solution alternatives, and operational trade-offs to clients.
  • Create or support risk-based validation for defects, enhancements, configuration changes, client issues, and releases.
  • Verify that changes satisfy requirements and record expected results, actual results, and outstanding risks.
  • Support release, regression, upgrade, and production validation across relevant environments.
  • Work with Sales and Account Management on suitable cross-sell and upsell discussions, client growth, adoption, and retention.
  • Apply approved AI technologies to improve productivity, automate routine technical work, strengthen analysis and documentation, and accelerate issue resolution while meeting security, privacy, HIPAA/PHI, and responsible AI requirements.

Requirements

  • At least five years of experience in technical consulting, application support, implementation, systems analysis, integration operations, or a comparable client-facing technical position.
  • Working proficiency in SQL and foundational data analysis.
  • Practical experience with Linux or Unix shell commands and structured formats such as CSV, XML, JSON, or fixed-width files.
  • Hands-on experience testing and validating REST or SOAP APIs with tools such as Postman, SoapUI, or cURL.
  • Hands-on experience with secure file transfers, including SFTP or FTPS and PGP/GPG encryption, decryption, or validation.
  • Working knowledge of system configuration, integrations, technical support, testing, and environment validation.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, prioritization, documentation, and cross-functional communication abilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience, plus at least three years in a related client-facing technical role.
  • Preferred: background in healthcare technology, payer operations, care management, utilization management, appeals and grievances, or another regulated setting.
  • Preferred: experience with enterprise schedulers or batch workflow tools, operational and BI data environments, Python or shell scripting, and Git or Bitbucket.
  • Preferred: familiarity with modern AI platforms and developer tools, including LLM APIs.
  • Preferred: experience with enterprise schedulers such as Skybot/Automate Schedule, Cron, Control-M, or Autosys.
  • Preferred: understanding of enterprise batch operations, concurrent processing, analytics platforms, and data reconciliation methods.
  • Preferred: Python or shell scripting experience for automation, validation, troubleshooting, or operational support.
