AI-First iOS Software Engineer

Build SwiftUI features for OPENLANE’s digital used-vehicle marketplace. Ship tested mobile experiences and use AI tools to speed up development.

Description

  • Build and scale mobile experiences for OPENLANE’s digital marketplace.
  • Develop seller and buyer iOS features primarily with modern SwiftUI.
  • Deliver feature-flagged work and meet pull request gates for both operating systems with support.
  • Write unit and user interface tests.
  • Use AI tools to accelerate coding, testing, and debugging, and verify their output before merging.
  • Work with Product and design.
  • Learn shared platform responsibilities with guidance from senior engineers.
  • Pair with Android colleagues on shared product behavior.
  • Collaborate daily with product managers, designers, backend and platform engineers, QA, senior iOS engineers, and the Android team.
  • Report to the Mobile Engineering Manager.
  • Use AI-assisted coding, refactoring, test coverage, validation, debugging, root-cause analysis, documentation, and knowledge sharing to reduce repetitive work and improve engineering efficiency.

Requirements

  • At least three years of professional iOS development experience, or equivalent depth of experience.
  • Proficiency in Swift.
  • Experience building apps with SwiftUI.
  • At least one app released on the App Store.
  • An AI-first approach, with active use of development tools and careful evaluation of their output.
  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience delivering production iOS features within a team codebase.
  • Strong Swift and SwiftUI skills, and willingness to work with UIKit where it remains in use.
  • Comfort with continuous integration, testing, and code review.
  • Ability to take increasing ownership of features with guidance from senior engineers.
  • Curiosity about using AI to solve real customer and business problems.
  • Ability to assess AI-generated output critically rather than accept it without review.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt as development tools change.
  • Basic knowledge of networking and app architecture, such as MVVM.
  • Familiarity with feature flags and mobile analytics.
  • Experience with unit testing and/or user interface testing.
  • Willingness to develop snapshot testing skills.
  • Preferred: Experience with snapshot testing.
  • Preferred: Exposure to Swift Package Manager modules and shared UI component libraries.
  • Preferred: Marketplace or e-commerce mobile experience.
  • Preferred: Interest in taking on authentication, feature flags, and analytics ownership over time.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with hybrid WebView experiences.
