Field Service Technician – Quito, Ecuador (On-Site)

SICPA is seeking a Field Service Technician in Quito to provide Level 2 support, maintenance, installations, and calibrations for customer solutions. The full-time, on-site role supports customers and field operations across hardware, software, and operational systems.

Description

  • Deliver Level 2 technical support for hardware, software, and operational concerns
  • Investigate and resolve incidents within established service-level targets
  • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance activities
  • Install, configure, maintain, and improve systems and applications
  • Monitor systems, troubleshoot faults, and complete scheduled calibrations
  • Keep technical records current and assist repair center operations
  • Coordinate service work with field technicians and support teams
  • Bridge communication between Level 2 and Level 3 support functions
  • Assist with deployments, upgrades, testing, and system validation
  • Escalate critical problems and contribute to incident resolution
  • Track service performance and support operational improvement efforts
  • Take part in on-call coverage and emergency interventions when needed
  • Provide on-site technical assistance to customers and operational personnel
  • Transfer technical knowledge and help strengthen local team capabilities
  • Advance continuous improvement, reliability, and service quality initiatives

Requirements

  • Technical diploma in electronics, electrical, mechanical, industrial, telecommunications, information technology, or a related discipline
  • At least five years of experience in field service, technical maintenance, troubleshooting, automation, industrial equipment, or operational support
  • Background supporting equipment, systems, and customer operations
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to assess mechanical, electrical, software, and application-related problems
  • Understanding of system monitoring, maintenance procedures, and technical documentation
  • Knowledge of computer networks and connectivity troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with IT support tools including FTP, SSH, PuTTY, SVN, and remote-access solutions
  • Knowledge of PLC configuration and basic programming
  • Customer-facing technical support experience is advantageous
  • Experience in beverage, tobacco, fuel, manufacturing, industrial, or laboratory settings is desirable
