Employee Benefits Client Manager – U.S. Remote

Manage employee benefits programs for U.S. employers at The Standard, covering life, disability, and leave insurance. Handle claims, coverage questions, escalations, reporting, and benefits administration.

Description

  • Act as the main contact for policyholders, employers, and employees regarding claims and coverage questions
  • Manage life, disability, and leave claims, including paid parental leave and death claims
  • Guide employees through the claims filing process
  • Address escalated claims, billing, and contract interpretation issues
  • Collaborate with HR and Benefits teams across multiple locations
  • Report on claim status, open items, and Evidence of Insurability
  • Track Evidence of Insurability requirements and updates
  • Maintain accurate premium administration and interpret benefit contracts
  • Coordinate the resolution of customer service, claims, and coverage issues
  • Improve processes that strengthen the customer experience and support client retention

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least 3 years of experience with leave management, Short-Term Disability (STD), Long-Term Disability (LTD), and life insurance
  • Background managing claims processes and resolving complex customer questions
  • Experience with Oracle or another benefits administration system
  • Strong understanding of benefit contract interpretation and premium administration
  • Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and business units
  • Strong verbal communication skills, with an empathetic, service-oriented approach
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Experience coordinating projects and cross-functional initiatives
  • Experience supporting group life, disability, and leave programs in a corporate or insurance setting
  • Availability to work Eastern Time hours from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Successful completion of criminal background, employment, education, and licensing checks
  • Must be bondable
