Director of HR Operations

Lead HR operations for Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Laboratory Chemicals Division, shaping talent strategy, organizational effectiveness, and core people processes. Advise senior leaders within a complex global matrix organization.

Description

  • Align people strategies with business priorities and growth plans alongside senior leaders
  • Lead organizational design, workforce planning, and change management programs
  • Advise leaders on talent, performance, employee relations, succession, and leadership effectiveness
  • Develop approaches to attract, develop, engage, and retain high-performing talent
  • Promote an inclusive, accountable culture centered on collaboration and continuous improvement
  • Use workforce data and insights to identify opportunities and guide strategic decisions
  • Oversee performance management, talent reviews, succession planning, and total rewards processes
  • Partner with global, cross-functional teams to deliver scalable HR solutions in a complex matrix organization
  • Act as a trusted HR advisor to leadership
  • Streamline HR processes and strengthen organizational effectiveness

Requirements

  • Advanced degree plus 6 or more years of progressive HR experience, including leadership responsibilities, or bachelor’s degree plus 8 or more years of progressive HR experience
  • Preferred degree in human resources, business administration, psychology, or a related discipline
  • PHR, SPHR, or equivalent professional HR certification preferred
  • Proven experience serving as a strategic HR business partner to senior and executive leaders
  • Experience leading organizational transformation, change management, and talent programs
  • Strong business judgment with the ability to turn business strategy into practical people solutions
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HR practices, employment law, and regulatory requirements
  • Track record of building and delivering talent management, succession, and leadership development strategies
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and deliver results across global, cross-functional, matrixed organizations
  • Strong coaching and consulting abilities when advising leaders at multiple levels
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and executive-influencing skills
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking capabilities for applying workforce insights to decisions
  • Experience using HR technology, analytics, and process improvement methods
  • Ability to work across varied teams, cultures, and perspectives while managing competing priorities
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to travel up to 25% based on business requirements
