Legal Services of the Hudson Valley is a nonprofit legal aid organization serving low-income individuals and families across the lower and mid-Hudson Valley. Founded in 1967, it provides free civil legal assistance through ten offices spanning Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, Rockland, Orange, Ulster, and Sullivan counties. Its work centers on essential needs, including housing and foreclosure, domestic violence, homelessness, veterans’ services, support for seniors and people with disabilities, and child neglect. As the region’s only comprehensive civil legal services provider across seven counties, the organization helps expand access to justice regardless of a client’s ability to pay and receives funding from the Legal Services Corporation.
