Description

  • Lead discovery with compliance teams, investigators, and risk leads to define monitoring scope and workflows.
  • Develop business and functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Compare current compliance operations with target platform capabilities to identify gaps.
  • Review customer, account, and transaction data models from core banking systems.
  • Map source data to AML transaction-monitoring and screening engines.
  • Find missing or corrupted historical data that could affect alert generation.
  • Convert regulatory rules and internal risk mandates into monitoring parameters and typology thresholds.
  • Assess vendor product modules against compliance requirements in relevant jurisdictions.
  • Set data standardization and cleansing rules.
  • Align technical data producers with business users.
  • Prepare test plans and realistic financial-crime scenarios.
  • Coordinate user acceptance testing with business stakeholders.
  • Check that monitoring scenarios generate alerts without excessive false positives.
  • Resolve functional questions from developers, data engineers, and QA teams during implementation.
  • Record constraints and project assumptions, and manage scope changes through the project lifecycle.
  • Provide architects and developers with financial-crime domain knowledge during technical discussions.

Requirements

  • At least 12 years of IT experience as a business analyst in banking or financial services.
  • At least 3–7 years of AML, financial crime compliance, or KYC experience for this domain-focused role.
  • Assess work from the client’s business perspective and align program delivery with business outcomes and needs.
  • Proactively identify effective implementation or enhancement approaches for modernization initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of Excel, SQL, BI or visualization tools, and/or Python.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to gain attention assertively and drive compliance.
