Director, Business Development – Distribution (Remote, United States)

Lead distributor-driven growth for Siemens Healthineers’ laboratory and point-of-care diagnostics businesses. Develop channel strategies, investment cases, and cross-functional programs that support sustainable revenue expansion.

Description

  • Identify and deliver growth opportunities through Siemens Healthineers distribution partners for laboratory and point-of-care businesses
  • Shape distribution strategies around partner strengths, customer relationships, field coverage, segmentation, market access, commercial goals, portfolio priorities, and customer requirements
  • Create near-term and long-term roadmaps for established and emerging distribution channels
  • Evaluate sales performance, product mix, customer groups, territories, pipeline activity, distributor results, market conditions, and unmet demand
  • Prepare clear recommendations and business cases for executive audiences
  • Rank opportunities according to revenue potential, strategic alignment, customer benefit, feasibility, required investment, and likelihood of success
  • Inform decisions through financial models and scenario planning
  • Maintain a visible initiative portfolio covering accountable owners, milestones, decisions, and anticipated outcomes
  • Direct strategic programs from initial concept through durable execution, including planning, pilots, scaling, handoffs, dependencies, and escalations
  • Align work across Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Finance, Commercial Operations, Service, Contracting, distributors, and other stakeholders
  • Run strategic planning sessions, initiative reviews, and joint business reviews
  • Strengthen data capture, data quality, accessibility, reporting, and planning capabilities
  • Create repeatable methods for assessing opportunities, designing initiatives, launching programs, governing delivery, and tracking performance
  • Set KPIs, leading indicators, financial targets, and adoption metrics
  • Track performance variance, propose corrective measures, and communicate revenue impact, ROI, portfolio status, decisions, risks, and lessons learned
  • Expand successful approaches while redesigning or discontinuing initiatives that do not perform

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, finance, economics, healthcare administration, life sciences, or a related field
  • At least 10 years of progressively responsible experience in business development, corporate or commercial strategy, strategic planning, consulting, commercial operations, channel management, or a related area
  • Substantial project and program management experience taking complex, cross-functional initiatives from strategy through implementation and outcome measurement
  • Proven ability to use data and market intelligence to uncover opportunities, prioritize investment, and translate findings into growth plans
  • Experience preparing business cases, financial assessments, executive recommendations, and measurable delivery plans
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and achieve results within a matrixed organization
  • Strong written communication, verbal communication, facilitation, and executive presentation capabilities
  • Background working with distributors, channel partners, indirect sales models, or strategic alliances
  • Experience in laboratory diagnostics, healthcare, medical devices, life sciences, or another regulated industry
  • Familiarity with commercial analytics, CRM systems, business intelligence tools, market sizing, customer segmentation, and competitive intelligence
  • Certification in project management, strategy, or process improvement
  • Ability to work with controlled technology in compliance with United States export control requirements
