Business Operations Analyst - Magellan Health (Remote)

Support Magellan Health’s healthcare operations through cross-functional analysis, reporting, and process improvement. Develop staffing models, performance metrics, and operational insights for leadership.

Description

  • Act as a key liaison among Non-Clinical Operations, Finance, and Analytics
  • Lead cross-functional business, continuous improvement, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Develop analyses and reports with clear data visualizations for diverse audiences
  • Plan, oversee, and measure large cross-functional projects and daily performance metrics
  • Provide reporting expertise and guidance on process improvement
  • Measure and analyze program and project performance with leadership and executives
  • Help project leads define processes, data needs, requirements, and operating procedures
  • Analyze trends and help implement financial and operational recommendations
  • Gather, analyze, and interpret qualitative and quantitative data, including initial root cause analysis
  • Support exploratory analysis and data aggregation from authorization, claims, phone, and HR sources
  • Document workflows with subject matter experts to improve operational effectiveness and efficiency
  • Document, support, and launch operational performance analyses using various computing tools
  • Create analytical views that clarify historical operational performance for management
  • Collaborate with Workforce Management on adaptable operations staffing models
  • Conduct ad hoc analyses across varying timelines and levels of complexity
  • Support accessible tools for measuring, managing, and reporting customer experience effectiveness
  • Document operational metrics and contribute to study issue and methodology definition
  • Evaluate processes and workflows, improve key metrics, and present findings clearly
  • Provide timely updates on deliverables
  • Work across the organization to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Help develop user acceptance testing scripts and test plans
  • Support training, communications, presentations, and project documentation

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Equivalent combinations of education and professional experience may be considered
  • At least 2 years of experience in process improvement, quality management, or data analytics
  • Six or more years of relevant experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree
  • Strong analytical, planning, verbal, and written communication abilities
  • Ability to develop analyses, reports, and compelling data visualizations
  • Ability to explain complex analytical findings and concepts to varied audiences
  • Ability to recognize meaningful trends and investigate them with technology tools
  • Sound judgment and adaptability when managing change
  • Consistent ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work with all management levels and collaborate across departments
  • Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, revenue, place-of-service, diagnosis, and billing codes is a plus
  • Required PC proficiency, particularly in Excel
  • Proficiency with Excel, Access, Outlook, Word, and Visio
  • Understanding of the healthcare delivery system
  • Knowledge of claims, authorizations, customer surveys, quality measures, and process improvement methods
  • Self-directed approach to work
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Genesys Cloud experience preferred
