Payroll Specialist – Bulgaria (Onsite)

Acronis is seeking a Payroll Specialist to coordinate payroll operations across Bulgaria, Serbia, Romania, Turkey, and Israel. The role covers provider management, payroll data validation, reconciliations, compliance, and timely issue resolution.

Description

  • Coordinate monthly payroll processing for Bulgaria, Serbia, Romania, Turkey, and Israel with the global payroll provider.
  • Own payroll calendars and track the timely completion of inputs, reviews, approvals, and deliverables.
  • Gather and verify payroll information covering hires, terminations, compensation updates, bonuses, commissions, benefits, leave, overtime, and deductions.
  • Examine payroll calculations and reports, investigate variances, and arrange corrective action.
  • Process off-cycle and termination payments, adjustments, and other exceptional transactions.
  • Act as the main HR liaison with the payroll provider and oversee issue resolution.
  • Keep employee payroll data current in Workday and reconcile it with provider records and payroll results.
  • Complete payroll reconciliations and control checks to support accuracy and compliance with local employment, tax, and social security rules.
  • Track legislative developments and collaborate with HR, Finance, Legal, and external advisers on country-specific obligations.
  • Answer payroll-related questions and address issues without delay.
  • Maintain confidential payroll records, supporting documentation, and audit trails.
  • Contribute to payroll audits, reporting, process enhancements, automation, and regional or global payroll initiatives.
  • Deliver accurate, compliant, and punctual payroll while improving multi-country controls and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bring at least three years of experience in payroll, HR operations with substantial payroll ownership, or a related position.
  • Demonstrate practical experience coordinating payroll processes; multi-country payroll exposure is strongly preferred.
  • Have experience working with an external or global payroll provider.
  • Understand payroll controls, reconciliations, data validation, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with Workday or another leading HRIS is required, with Workday experience preferred.
  • Use Excel confidently when managing substantial volumes of payroll and employee data.
  • Show meticulous attention to detail, strong organization, and effective problem-solving ability.
  • Manage multiple payroll calendars, competing priorities, and fixed deadlines effectively.
  • Communicate clearly in written and spoken English; additional relevant languages are advantageous.
  • Handle confidential employee and compensation information with a high level of discretion.
  • Knowledge of payroll practices in at least two assigned countries is a strong advantage.
