Field Service Technician – Quito, Ecuador (On-Site)

Provide Level 2 technical support for SICPA security and authentication systems in Quito. Install, maintain, calibrate, monitor, and troubleshoot customer equipment and applications.

Description

  • Deliver Level 2 support for hardware, software, and operational concerns.
  • Investigate incidents and resolve them within established service-level targets.
  • Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance and corrective repairs.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and improve systems and applications.
  • Monitor systems, troubleshoot faults, and complete routine calibrations.
  • Keep technical records current and assist repair center operations.
  • Plan field service work with technicians and support personnel.
  • Coordinate issue handling between Level 2 and Level 3 support.
  • Assist with deployments, upgrades, testing, and system validation.
  • Escalate high-impact issues and contribute to incident resolution.
  • Track service results and help improve operational processes.
  • Take part in on-call coverage and emergency response when needed.
  • Deliver on-site technical assistance to customers and operations teams.
  • Share expertise and help develop the capabilities of local teams.
  • Support initiatives focused on continuous improvement, reliability, and service quality.

Requirements

  • Hold a technical degree in electronics, electrical, mechanical, industrial, telecommunications, information technology, or a related discipline.
  • Bring at least five years of experience in field service, technical maintenance, troubleshooting, automation, industrial equipment, or operational support.
  • Experience supporting equipment, systems, and customer operations.
  • Demonstrated strength in troubleshooting and technical diagnostics.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to assess mechanical, electrical, software, and application issues.
  • Understanding of system monitoring, maintenance procedures, and technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of computer networks and connectivity troubleshooting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with IT support tools including FTP, SSH, PuTTY, SVN, and remote access solutions is preferred.
  • PLC configuration and basic programming experience is preferred.
  • Experience in beverage, tobacco, fuel, manufacturing, industrial, or laboratory settings is preferred.
