Senior English-to-French Translator-Reviser – AbbVie Canada (Remote)
Senior translator-reviser responsible for English-to-French pharmaceutical, medical, and corporate content. Supports AbbVie Canada’s linguistic services, francization, and translation operations.
Tavsif
- Translate medical, pharmaceutical, administrative, commercial, advertising, and media materials from English into French
- Maintain the meaning, intent, and content of source materials, including scientific and high-visibility documents
- Review internal and external French translations for accurate terminology and consistent language
- Organize, prioritize, and oversee translation and revision requests
- Advise internal clients and colleagues on language-related matters
- Support clients and colleagues with translations in specialized fields
- Develop and maintain shared glossaries, lexicons, and style guides
- Help manage computer-assisted translation tools and monitor relevant innovations
- Coordinate with translation vendors and key internal stakeholders
- Encourage French-language use across the organization, including Francofête activities
- Contribute to AbbVie Canada’s francization-related responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain Linguistic Services operating and coordination documentation
- Represent AbbVie Canada’s interests in collaboration with AbbVie teams globally
- Improve resource allocation, propose practical business solutions, and contribute to change and innovation
- Support departmental planning activities for Linguistic Services
- Exchange knowledge and expertise with other Linguistic Services team members
Talablar
- Bachelor’s degree in English-to-French translation or an equivalent qualification
- At least 10 years of English-to-French translation experience
- At least 5 years of comparative English-to-French revision experience
- Experience translating, updating, and revising drug and medical-device product monographs
- Relevant experience and a solid understanding of health or life sciences
- Advanced French proficiency
- Very strong English comprehension and fluency
- Exceptional writing ability and command of style
- Extensive knowledge of industry-specific terminology and phraseology
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Able to work under pressure while handling multiple projects
- Able to work independently and deliver on schedule
- Comfortable using technology and everyday work systems
- Able to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
- Able to work effectively in a multinational organization
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Professional certification such as OTTIAQ, ATIO, or equivalent is an asset
- Knowledge of LogiTerm is an asset
