Principal Business Operations Transformation Lead – Remote

Lead the redesign of Deposit Operations for a shared-services organization serving multiple credit unions. Drive automation, AI adoption, regulatory controls, and measurable operational improvements.

Tavsif

  • Design and implement a target operating model for a shared-services organization supporting multiple credit unions.
  • Connect business operations with technology, data, AI and automation teams, and project leadership.
  • Lead discovery, process analysis, requirements definition, KPI baselining, future-state design, and benefits validation, beginning with Deposit Operations.
  • Conduct discovery sessions with credit-union and shared-services subject-matter experts.
  • Document end-to-end processes, workflows, business rules, requirements, systems, controls, data flows, handoffs, exceptions, and manual work.
  • Compare processes across participating credit unions to identify opportunities for standardization and automation.
  • Surface bottlenecks, duplicate work, workarounds, control deficiencies, rework, and improvement opportunities.
  • Conduct interviews and workshops with employees and stakeholders impacted by process changes.
  • Assess ACH and share-draft exceptions, returned deposits, ACH research and reclamations, manual payroll, card and member-account support, remote and mobile deposit review, and related research workflows.
  • Assess and rank automation opportunities involving workflow orchestration, AI, document intelligence, RPA, and related technologies.
  • Design future-state workflows that account for exceptions, escalations, human review, and audit needs.
  • Convert business needs into business, functional, data, workflow, integration, reporting, and control requirements.
  • Create user stories, acceptance criteria, business rules, process models, and traceability documentation.
  • Collaborate with solution architects, developers, AI specialists, security teams, and business subject-matter experts.
  • Support configurable workflows spanning multiple credit unions, operating models, systems, policies, and approval structures.
  • Plan for expansion into Lending, Collections, and additional participating credit unions.
  • Establish baselines for volume, FTE utilization, cycle time, throughput, errors, rework, exceptions, cost to serve, and service levels.
  • Estimate efficiency gains and business benefits, define success measures, establish tracking frameworks, and recommend implementation actions.
  • Coordinate across operations staff, credit-union leaders, technology teams, compliance stakeholders, and implementation teams.
  • Support change-readiness reviews, communications, training, knowledge transfer, and transition planning.
  • Address operational risk, compliance, privacy, security, internal controls, GLBA, NCUA expectations, auditability, third-party risk, explainability, and human oversight.
  • Support prototypes, demonstrations, requirements reviews, testing, and user acceptance testing.
  • Maintain records of requirements, assumptions, dependencies, decisions, issues, and scope changes.
  • Prepare governance and executive or Board decision-gate materials, and report status, findings, risks, and recommendations to project and client leadership.

Talablar

  • Prior credit-union experience is required.
  • Understand US financial-services regulatory and legal considerations, including credit-union data-security obligations.
  • Know Gramm-Leach-Bliley data-security and privacy requirements.
  • Know SSAE 18 and SOC 2 Type 2 controls.
  • Know ISO 27001 standards.
  • Know NCUA Regulation 748, Parts A and B.
  • Experience with credit-union platforms such as Keystone is required.
  • Bring at least seven years of progressively responsible experience in business analysis, process transformation, or operational improvement.
  • Have experience in credit unions, retail banking, banking operations, financial-services shared services, or another highly regulated financial-services setting.
  • Have analyzed complex operations involving multiple systems, business units, handoffs, controls, and exception paths.
  • Lead requirements-gathering and process-discovery workshops with business and technical participants.
  • Create current- and future-state maps, business and functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, business rules, KPI and benefits frameworks, traceability matrices, and process and data-flow documentation.
  • Have supported workflow automation, intelligent automation, RPA, AI-enabled transformation, or digital process redesign.
  • Quantify operational improvement opportunities and track realized business benefits.
  • Demonstrate strong analysis skills and comfort working with operational, financial, and performance data.
  • Communicate effectively through facilitation, interviewing, writing, and executive presentations.
  • Translate effectively between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams.
  • Have worked in Agile, iterative, hybrid, or structured implementation environments.
  • Preferred: Experience in credit-union Deposit Operations or comparable retail banking operations.
  • Preferred: Experience with ACH, deposit exceptions, remote deposit capture, payments, card servicing, disputes, reconciliations, or account servicing.
  • Preferred: Experience with CUSOs, shared-service organizations, or multi-entity operating environments.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with core banking, workflow, document-management, payment, and financial-services platforms.
  • Preferred: Experience supporting AI, generative AI, machine learning, document intelligence, workflow orchestration, or automation implementations.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with multi-tenant models and data or workflow segregation across financial institutions.
  • Preferred: Understanding of GLBA and NCUA requirements.
  • Preferred: Experience supporting model governance, human-in-the-loop controls, auditability, or explainability.
  • Preferred: CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, Lean Six Sigma, or comparable business-analysis or process-improvement certification.
