Senior Ecommerce Design Team Lead — Remote in Costa Rica

Lead Hustler Marketing’s design team across email, SMS, advertising, GIF, and short-form video campaigns for ecommerce clients. Oversee designers, quality standards, workload planning, and campaign delivery while contributing hands-on design expertise.

Descriere

  • Lead the Design Team’s daily operations
  • Maintain design quality across email and SMS campaigns, advertising assets, GIFs, short videos, and occasional landing pages
  • Review creative work and provide clear, actionable feedback
  • Identify design issues involving hierarchy, contrast, calls to action, image-to-text balance, and mobile performance
  • Advise Account Managers on campaign visual needs and push back on incomplete briefs
  • Contribute hands-on design support when workload demands it
  • Preserve consistency across client brands, industries, and visual systems
  • Plan, organise, and rebalance the team’s weekly workload
  • Monitor team capacity and ensure design targets for client accounts are achieved
  • Serve as the first escalation point for blockers
  • Lead team meetings and recurring one-to-one conversations
  • Gather and respond to team feedback, suggestions, and concerns
  • Mentor and onboard designers
  • Strengthen collaboration with other service teams through workshops, tutorials, and documentation
  • Deliver training and professional development sessions
  • Refine workflows, handoffs, and communication practices
  • Keep team documentation current
  • Review Figma updates and implement useful features
  • Follow design and email marketing trends and share relevant developments
  • Present industry best practices to the Service Director and the wider team
  • Complete projects assigned by the Service Director
  • Report to the Service Director and work with Account Managers and other Hustler Marketing teams

Cerințe

  • At least five years of graphic design experience, including three or more years focused on email marketing design
  • Advanced Figma expertise, including experience creating and using component libraries
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite or Affinity
  • Experience creating advertising graphics, animated GIFs, and short video edits
  • A portfolio demonstrating effective, on-brand work across varied clients, stores, and industries
  • Experience leading, mentoring, or coordinating designers
  • Ability to assess design work and deliver written, specific, actionable feedback
  • Ability to assign and reshuffle weekly team workloads, including with limited notice
  • Basic knowledge of web design and landing pages is advantageous
  • Experience with Klaviyo or a similar email marketing platform is advantageous
  • Proficiency with Slack, Asana, Hubstaff, Google Workspace, and Figma
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Experience working remotely, preferably with teams distributed across time zones
  • Availability and responsiveness Monday through Friday from 3 to 6 PM Barcelona time
  • Capacity to work consistently 30 to 35 hours per week, or 140 hours per month
  • Reliable internet access, a laptop or PC, and availability for video calls
  • Willingness to sign an exclusivity agreement and provide 30 days’ notice after the first month
