Senior Associate, Internal Communications – Card Campaigns | Capital One

Capital One is seeking an internal communications specialist to develop associate-facing Card campaigns. The role combines multichannel storytelling, editorial planning, and analytics-informed messaging for more than 30,000 associates.

Plan and deliver associate-facing campaigns for key moments throughout the year
Create and launch internal communications campaigns supporting Card strategic priorities
Use storytelling to strengthen engagement and culture
Work with Creative to enhance stories across digital and multimedia channels
Partner with Executive Communications to identify departmental achievements and develop Card-wide news
Coordinate with Chiefs of Staff, HR, and other cross-functional partners to curate timely, targeted messages
Write, publish, and distribute content through email, Slack, the intranet, newsletters, and events
Interview stakeholders and turn complex business initiatives into clear, human-centered stories
Manage the editorial calendar for Card-wide communications
Monitor, analyze, and report communication-channel metrics and feedback
Use emerging productivity and AI tools to improve drafting and editorial workflows

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including presentation strength and editorial judgment
Strong ability to influence others and negotiate effectively
Demonstrated success creating communication plans and aligning partners in complex, matrixed organizations
Experience managing projects end to end, working with urgency, meeting tight deadlines, and delivering quality work on time and within budget
Ability to remain adaptable, composed, and judicious in fast-moving environments
Strong stakeholder focus with a history of building trusted, collaborative relationships
Bachelor’s degree or military experience
At least two years of experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or newsroom/journalism environments
A BA in Communications, Journalism, English, or Marketing is preferred
At least three years of experience as a communications specialist is preferred
At least one year of experience in a customer-facing role or financial services is preferred
Experience managing digital communication channels and email newsletter platforms is preferred
Newsroom or journalistic writing experience is preferred
Exceptional project management and stakeholder-influencing skills are preferred
Experience applying data and engagement analytics to refine communication strategies is preferred
