Senior Account Executive, Switzerland Remote

Lead GitLab’s sales process for Commercial and Enterprise customers in Switzerland, from prospecting through close. Manage account strategy, negotiations, pipeline accuracy, and customer feedback for GitLab’s AI-powered DevSecOps platform.

Description

  • Manage a diverse portfolio of Commercial and Enterprise accounts, from new prospects through expansion opportunities
  • Lead the complete sales cycle, including discovery, solution alignment, negotiation, and closing
  • Present GitLab’s DevSecOps value proposition in terms of measurable customer business outcomes
  • Review wins and losses, perform root cause analyses, and distribute lessons that support improvement
  • Maintain accurate records of buying criteria, purchasing processes, next steps, owners, pipeline information, and account plans
  • Strengthen sales playbooks and processes by recording effective practices and areas for refinement
  • Lead account activities before and after the sale in partnership with technical teams and customer success
  • Bring customer perspectives to GitLab through product feedback and proposals in the public issue tracker
  • Report to a Regional Sales Director while working with business development, marketing, sales development, and technical teams

Requirements

  • Demonstrated success in software sales, preferably within an enterprise-market environment managing a varied account portfolio
  • Ability to guide customers through the full buying process, including establishing buying criteria, mapping purchasing steps, and defining clear next actions
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities for collaboration with business development, marketing, technical teams, and sales leadership
  • Experience maintaining evidence-based pipeline information and account plans
  • Ability to participate in win-loss and root cause analyses and apply findings to improve team performance and processes
  • Proficiency in negotiation, customer presentations, and leading commercial conversations through close
  • Interest in GitLab and open source software
  • Familiarity with Git, software development tools, or application lifecycle management is preferred
  • Alignment with GitLab’s values
  • Willingness to travel according to company policy
