Payroll Associate - Florida Remote

Process compliant payroll for GuideWell’s healthcare companies while resolving employee pay questions and supporting audits, records, and operational improvements.

Description

  • Process payroll for GuideWell’s family of companies
  • Enter and maintain payroll transactions and administrative data, including benefit corrections, severance, PTO donations, deductions, direct deposits, duplicate W-2s and paystubs, garnishments, levies, child support, bankruptcies, military differential, leave coding, manual checks, subpoenas, workers’ compensation statements, security requests, and employment verifications
  • Complete pre-payroll activities such as employee pay-status updates, timecard audits, special-payment validation, and pay-variance reviews
  • Administer payroll in accordance with applicable state and federal regulations and corporate policies
  • Act as the initial contact for payroll, time and labor, and web-clock questions received by phone, email, and help desk
  • Investigate paycheck concerns and explain net-pay calculations to employees
  • Explain employee self-service resources, company policies, and relevant government regulations
  • Resolve paycheck distribution problems, communicate corrections, and process repayments
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for payroll activities
  • Recommend improvements to payroll processes
  • Escalate employee-related feedback to management
  • Work with the payroll team to strengthen process consistency and operational effectiveness
  • Maintain employee record accuracy and coordinate with Payroll Accounting

Requirements

  • At least four years of related professional experience
  • Experience using HRIS or payroll systems
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Basic understanding of calculating gross-to-net pay
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other Office applications
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities
  • Active listening skills for managing a high volume of employee inquiries
  • General knowledge of payroll and human resources policies and procedures preferred
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related discipline preferred
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud HCM Payroll and ADP Payment Solutions preferred
  • Ability to perform sedentary work and occasionally exert up to 10 pounds of force
