Description

  • Provide consecutive interpretation between Cantonese and English for people facing language barriers.
  • Manage on-demand telephone and video calls while accurately conveying each speaker’s meaning.
  • Process information quickly, account for cultural sensitivities, and communicate with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Apply relevant industry terminology and follow common procedures across supported sectors.
  • Interpret simple and complex calls involving technical and non-technical topics across healthcare, government, insurance, finance, utilities, travel and hospitality, emergency services, law enforcement, courts, and general business.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills to maintain accuracy.
  • Remain focused, detached, neutral, and objective throughout each conversation.
  • Establish personal credibility quickly with callers and clients.
  • Follow client instructions carefully and consistently.
  • Explain relevant cultural concepts, when permitted or requested by the client, to prevent misunderstandings.
  • Read and write Chinese characters fluently.
  • Have B2 CEFR English proficiency alongside the other required language skills.
  • Be available to work permanently from home.
