Bilingual HR Generalist - Thousand Oaks, CA
Bilingual English/Spanish HR Generalist supporting employee relations, training, compliance, and workforce processes for SBM Management Services. This onsite role serves Southern California facilities and includes travel between sites as needed.
Description
- Manage assigned division activities across employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment, retention, and compliance.
- Stay current on legal requirements and government reporting rules relevant to human resources.
- Coordinate development training for employees and managers.
- Advise managers on employee relations matters in accordance with SBM and collective bargaining policies and procedures.
- Promote employee engagement through training, site visits, mobile app adoption, and ESAT action plans.
- Prepare, process, review, and maintain personnel transactions and government reporting data.
- Support and promote talent review programs.
- Develop employee separation notices, RIF actions, and related documentation.
- Conduct exit interviews and train managers on separation procedures.
- Partner with managers and finance on payroll activities, wage reviews, and compensation changes.
- Advise management on performance management, disciplinary actions, PIPs, and CAPs.
- Lead special projects, manage expectations, address issues, assess time and cost matters, and produce reports.
- Investigate employee relations concerns and grievances and participate in personnel hearings.
- Build effective partnerships with operations teams while maintaining communication with sites and managers.
- Travel among sites and other locations as business needs require.
- Perform supervisory duties including interviewing, hiring, work assignments, performance evaluations, training, and complaint resolution.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business management or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two to four years of experience as an HR Generalist.
- Fluency in English and Spanish.
- Experience working in both unionized and non-unionized environments.
- A valid driver’s license and compliance with SBM Driver Approval requirements may be required.
- Completion of all required safety and task-training certifications.
- Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Ability to manage responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.
